If a person has a tribe that states it is the tribe for all Utah Belly Dancers and is public, (Belly Dance in Utah) are there any stipulations what constitutes reasonable reasons for getting booted? It has happened to me three times, by the same woman and I have never posted anything. She does this because she believes all the crap that my stalker has posted. She makes her tribes private after I join and then get booted.

Re: Getting kicked out for no reason
Sat, February 7, 2009 - 11:24 AMIf you rejoin a tribe that you have been previously removed from
you are opening your self to being unsubscribed from Tribe as a whole.
Moderators have pretty much free reign over who they allow, and don't allow, into their tribes.
But, you can always send an email to help@tribe.net explaining the situation and see if maybe they can
intervene on your behalf.
Good luck.

Sat, February 7, 2009 - 1:46 PMinteresting, but when i searched Utah Belly Dancers, i got your tribe and this: utahbellydance.tribe.net/ which i can't seem to access at all. are you sure they still exist? -

Re: Getting kicked out for no reason
Sat, February 7, 2009 - 3:27 PMjamilla, if you don't supply a link, it is difficult to check whether what you say is true.
when i put "Belly Dance in Utah" in the google search box at the top of this page, the first tribe listed is the link i supplied in my previous post. when i click that link, i get standardized tribe message that says 'The Requested Action Cannot Be Performed'. if it was a private tribe, i thought i would see a tribe profile page that would tell me it's private, and that i have to ask to be a member. it does not. that's why i questioned whether it's there or not.
if i am trying the wrong tribe, you'd have to let me know what link to tribe.
it looks like you are moderator of your own tribe of utah belly dancers. why is it so important to be a part of the other one? it sounds like whoever is 'kicking you out for no reason' is really getting to you. is there any friend on that tribe that you can query to find out why this might be so? -

Re: Getting kicked out for no reason
Sat, February 7, 2009 - 7:34 PMI wouldn't make this up. Give me a break.
When I first joined tribe I joined her tribe. She immediately booted me for no reason and so I made my own. Hers had disappeared, just like now..BUT it came back a week later and has been public for a year so I joined again and she did it again. She (Captain Corrie of Kashmir) networks with all Utah Belly dancers, ones that I hire to teach and perform here in Moab.
I got the link off of google
utahbellydance.tribe.net/
Yes I made my own tribe, but one has to wonder what is going on here? I have festivals and many belly dance functions here in Moab and this is how we network. Previously she has befriended the woman who stalks me and harasses me and posts libelous statements to damage my business and reputation. Tribe has agreed to this. I have to wonder what she is posting about me that will cause her to ax me and make it private. She also has two other tribes and has booted me from both , with no reason, after posting some rather rude post about me. I have never met this woman. She is going on what my stalker has posted in many many tribes and blogs on tribe for the past 5 years!!!
There are some really great things about tribe, but this isn't on of them. Someone with a grudge can ruin your life!!!
You can not find a private tribe. They have to ask you to join. -

Sat, February 7, 2009 - 8:27 PMYes I made my own tribe, but one has to wonder what is going on here?
-----------
she doesn't like you. its not fair, but thats the way it is. if you want help on the issue the best help i can give you is ideas to make your tribe
more interesting and popular, or, thoughts on how to set up an internet site or etc.
Nobody would fault you for kicking her out of your tribes.
she wouldn't think it was fair either.
I'm sorry, i wish had more to offer you than that.

Re: Getting kicked out for no reason
Sat, February 7, 2009 - 8:31 PMOh My God
its a tribe
It's Not the National Defense system
Or The Convent you spent your whole life in
or like being ostracized by your family,
Maybe I'm wrong but I seem to remember an entire
other world out there beyond that tribe,
Beyond Tribe in general, beyond the net.
A real world with real people and air and sky and sunshine.
A very wise person once told me......
"you can always Log off."
I don't understand the importance of making yourself
crazy with this. If you really believe what that person
or Tribe did to you was wrong,
maybe you ought to take a good look
at what you seem to be doing to yourself.
why would you even want to be in a tribe that has
given you the boot.?
You are the ONE letting this ruin your life,
You are allowing it to happen. Your Choice!
I am not trying to be cold or critical or cruel here.
Just helpful -

Re: Getting kicked out for no reason
Sat, February 7, 2009 - 10:32 PMjamilla, thank you for confirming the link. i had never encountered a private tribe before, i guess, because i had never seen a message like that.
it's a shame that ugly rumors can cause such a reaction, but i suppose a private tribe can be handled however the moderator wants. sad about your predicament, but hopeful that you can turn away from this situation and forge a stronger tribe of your own that will draw like-minded people. i would imagine that the best way to dispell rumors is to be yourself and prove that you are not what they say by what *you do*... not by complaining about what they are *doing to you*. if you have a tribe full of good content and welcoming (not sour) attitude that can draw people, you will create that special networking arena you desire.
this probably isn't what you want to hear, and i'd be interested to hear if anyone else has better advice. but to claim that someone with a grudge can ruin your life sounds a bit extreme, now, doesn't it?!
i feel for you, and hope you can make something good out of this.

Re: Getting kicked out for no reason
Sun, February 8, 2009 - 5:20 AMThe reason for my concern is that I book belly dance superstars and other famous blokes for my festivals and it costs me a great deal of money. I have over 300 dancers here for my events. It is important not to double book dates here in podunk Utah and the moderater for that tribe not only books events on the dates of my events, she books them in Moab (she booked herself) and she lives 300 miles away. She will make her tribes moderated in about a week so all read her stuff. She is evil and rotten to her core. The scope of this problem is bigger than you all see. I log off plenty and go take photos teach and recreate..check my profile, tribe is not my life and it is not making me crazy. . However, I do my work on the computor and it is my business. Since Moab is out of the way, marketing is the key. Thanks for all your help. I just wanted to know the answer to my original comment.
I wish I could hug some of you! -

Re: Getting kicked out for no reason
Sun, February 8, 2009 - 1:08 PMJamilla we are so used to people feeling abused that our first instinct is to blame the victim.
Your point is valid.. and them trying to create events on the same date is dumb..
and there really isnt anything that tribe can do.. I dont think
the thing is I think you should be patient and let Karma take care of it... if she/they are so intent on making your business fail.. the universe will take care of it.. honest
especially since I just asked for it.. :) lets work on manifesting the open sight of all who look for what you sew.. then the river will flow where its supposed to.

Who do you feed?
Sun, February 8, 2009 - 8:15 AMjamilla, i love this quote you posted on your profile page:
"An elder Cherokee Native American was teaching his grandchildren about life. He said to them, 'A fight is going on inside me...It is a terrible fight, and it is between two wolves. One wolf represents fear, anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, pride and superiority. The other wolf stands for joy, peace, love, hope, sharing, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, friendship, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. This same fight is going on inside of you and every other person too.'
"They thought about it for a minute and then one child asked his grandfather, 'Which wolf will win?' The old Cherokee simply replied...'The one I feed.'" -

Re: Getting kicked out for no reason
Sun, February 22, 2009 - 12:17 PMwhat was your handle back then? i'm so confused?
anyways... that tribe is a dead tribe. I suppose you could try to talk loki into a coup, but hes actually being more chickenshit over this than i have ever seen him over anything.
Its nice to have you over... in all probability tho i'm just here and gone for my sunday once weekly. Its like praying in reverse;
exposure to the banal on sundays. It doesn't make much sense to most people, but i like to have my banal and my sacred all clumped up like that, it makes it easier to deal with the mundane the rest of the week. lol.
as stated on other thread, i'm now at white house 2.
check it. you might like it and decide to stay.
