I just saw a news story on tv which I can't find anything online about yet. They showed a man & his wife in Colorado and the guy was lighting the water coming out of his kitchen sink on fire. It was a total trip. So they have to drink bottled water and can't take showers in their dream home. They are devastated and the energy company has promised to clean up the mess for them. I wonder how long that will take? Or if it's even possible? They should move. Sounds like a toxic environment that could make them sick and die. I wish I could find a video of the guy lighting the water on fire. Totally freaky.

  • Exxon still hasn't cleaned everything up from the Prince William Sound spill 20 years later (nor payed the fines) so if I was these people I'd not be holding my breath...but where the hell do they move to? And just who is going to buy their poisoned property so they can afford to move elsewhere?

And honestly, the entire planet is turning rapidly into one big toxic spinning ball of human-invented shit. What gets dumped/vented/spilled etc etc etc STAYS here forever. Nobody is taking out the trash, ya know? There really isn't anywhere you can avoid the toxics in the air, water, food, or dirt. Everyone has DDT in their system, Dioxin, PCBs. Read a study a while back that did tests on newborn babies across the country, from hovels in Appalachia to Bel Air filthyrich hospitals in LA and EVERY SINGLE BABY had at least 250 synthetic man-made chemicals already in their blood & tissue. At birth. Hormone disrupters, cancer-causing, genetic mutators. On and on the list goes and I read that over 800 new chemicals a year are being invented with no idea what the long term effects are going to be. Hell, there is supposedly 80% of the fallout from the bomb tests of the 50s & 60s still floating in the atmosphere that hasn't come raining down on us yet! Holy shit!

Doesn't bode well for the species. Maybe the next sapient to evolve on this planet will do better in 10 million years or so.
