I don't use drugs (except some booze). But all this drug cartel crap, trafficking, crime and misery could be eliminated if all drugs (weed, crack, coke, meth, heroin, you name it) was decriminalized and sold over the counter for a reasonable price, so every "gotta have it" junkie can have their fill morning noon and and night.

All this opium problem in Abfuckastan would cease. All this war on drugs would cease. Cartels would become useless.

Sure there would be a lot of fucked people running around, causing wrecks and keeling over on the street corners... but that is happening now! Let's at least get all the big money of the drug lords hands and in the board rooms where it belongs. White collar crime is so nice and clean compared to this Familia stuff.

I think it has to do with who's actually in power. And their unwillingness to relinquish that power. I like to think I would never put myself in those shoes. But people do. It's interesting how people like to think good and evil are subjective. To rationalize things. I do believe there are some absolutes that truly do distinguish good and evil. I'm no expert and dont know all the politics of legalization. But if there were a REASONABLE tax on things such as marijuana and opium we would not have a deficit. We'd be in the green instead of the red.
