    This whole fucking planetfull of primates is going (or at least has always been) nuts.
    
    Thinking about it, that island's population was completely eradicated inside the first hundred years after Columbus sailed up. Something near 15 million people lived in the Caribbean in 1492 (according to historian H. Zinn and other researchers). Also Brig. General Smedley Butler talked in his 1935 book about massacres on that island.
    
    So I guess I'd have to go with the always has been concept...
