THE WIBBLE - source: www.spherculism.net, written by Matt Terry.
Wibble = throw, tapback, tapback, tapback, tapback, tapback....
where each 'tapback' is hitting the handle of the poi back the way it came.
If you make contact further toward the center of the poi body the poi won't wibble back straight away, instead it will do 1 wrap around your arm, then wibble off again. This doesn't have a specific wibbling name, it's just a wibble as far as i'm concerned, perhaps a propellor followed by a wibble if you want to get technical.
But 'Wibbling' is more 'a familiy' or 'style' of moves than a single specific thing.
Propellor = poi spinning round constantly in same direction, exactly the same as the 'propellor' devilstick move.
Doing this is tricky and releys on you making contact with the poi at the center of gravity (CoG), then sliding up toward the handle, poi jumps off a little, reset hand position to CoG. I find using 2 fingers is best.
So generally if the poi continues in the same direction then it's a propellor, if it changes direction it's a wibble, the 2 are closely related.
Both are considered 'Contact Poi' since you can make the 'throw' so tiny that the poi remains in contact with your body. Or you can throw it high and continue the propellor or wibble.
oh yeah:
wibble = 1 spin
dibble = 2 spins
ibble was a name given to the move where you tap the tail, then tap the head, so :
ibble = 1/2 spin (ie a proper juggling tapback)

Re: wibbles and variations
Wed, February 28, 2007 - 11:49 AMi've been playing with wibble wrap to releases, much like some of the italian thorttle stuff that has been about. -

Re: wibbles and variations
Wed, February 28, 2007 - 6:01 PMdo you mean like when you wrap the poi without letting it slip so that when it reaches the poi head it bounces off??
yeah cool, it's nice to use the natural bounce of the poi when it wraps, which is what accaio is doing with the throttle i think... what stuff have you been playing with David?
varying the direction which the poi flies off in is really nice - you can choose which hand to catch it in, and so varying how you transfer throttle-type moves...

Re: wibbles and variations
Thu, March 1, 2007 - 11:11 AMHave I to open a thread on throttle? :D
Anyhow...about wibble I think we can discuss...firstly about the name that would be the name of a tns of tricks very diffrent eachothers..as you say what aI usual calla "double tapback" is a wibble con a propelr....i don't know but we can clarify som concept and difine EXACTLY what a wibble is...
Wibble= tapback?
wibble=kind of tapback?
wibble="style" of contact poi?
or I can say many others...
I cannot really think at a really definite thing when I'm thinking to wibble can you?
I also wont to add in spherculism definitions
fibble= foot wibble (I usually do it as "double tapback" defined as before it works nicely and not so hard as it looks)
2wibbe or twibble= wibble with two poi
and from the last a lot of variations...I think can be developed a "2wibble-swap" theory or something like it...
most common variations of twibble:
same direction same time
opposite direction same time
split time(usually starting from opposite direction but obviously at an half way)
during 2wibble you can dibble one or both your poi...but there is a lot of theory that here fucks and I have talk about only a couple of times with matt ....and we need more feedback from other 2wibblers for say something certain...
I hope this have sense... -

Yes, i think thats what I mean- so RHD is spinning poi clockwise- swung under left arm and the head hokks over the wrist, which is then moved around the poi head leading to the 'pop' release.
A throttle type thing :)
The nice thing is that when spinning two poi, you can do them in either same dir or BF, leading to one poi being antispun whilst sending the other off for a contact release :) (Similar to something mentioned the other day on HOP I think) -

Fri, March 16, 2007 - 9:00 AMThe Rubber Heart Duo are spinning poi now?! Only clockwise though I'm pleased to hear...
