Re: new fire insurance info
Wed, September 3, 2008 - 11:22 PMI know that specialty has asked that people be sent to their site without mention of the policy. It seems that caused them some problems in the past. I'm not sure how your establish the $1M/$2M thing, but I know the complete aggregate on Specialty (with the excess liability) is $4M this year.
IJA does not cover pyrotechnics or any use of indoor fire. I'm betting that the puppeteers have similar restrictions, though I plan on checking...
World clown has some limitations too...
3. Pyrotechnics/Explosives (Flashboxes covered up to $5,000) Flashpaper is acceptable
4. Fireworks, pyrotechnic devices or any similar materials except
“concussion effects”, “flashpots” and “smokepots”
Good research though, never heard of WCA before this....

Fri, September 12, 2008 - 12:56 AMOkay, so after -actually calling- these companies, we're back to square one:
Specialty and AFA are the only two companies that currently cover US performers. -

Tue, September 16, 2008 - 2:22 PMHunh... Well some good did come out of this. the IJA policy is now open to anyone who uses fire outside (not just jugglers). Might be good for RenFaire types... -
