Green Beans with toasted Hazelnut-Lemon Butter
Savory Bread Pudding with Mushrooms and Parmesan Cheese
Sage and shallot mashed potatoes.

Re: I know its early but....
Wed, August 15, 2007 - 8:52 AMAFTER Thanksgiving, I like to take the BIGGEST yellow onions I can find. Cut em in half and take out all the layers except the outer two. They layer em with turkey, mashed potatos, cranberry sauce, gravy, and whatever other goodness is left behind. Gotta make the top layer mashed potatos though to 'seal' it all in. Stick em on a baking sheet upside down and bake em till the onion goes all soft. Super ridiculously fantastic.
and Pie. ridiculous amounts of pie. and fresh cranberry sauce of course. the canned crap just sucks after you have made your own. and baked apple slices. and garlic mashed potatos and pan gravy. and i make the best turkey in life. and devilled eggs of course. god. so many things. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday I think. Last year I made dinner for about 15. It was the first year doing pretty much ALL by myself. I loved it. (Except that i was across the county in someone elses kitchen and it always kinda sucks not having YOUR kitchen.) -

Re: I know its early but....
Thu, August 16, 2007 - 9:03 AMour family decided a few years back...that we don't really want turkey for our big meal. so, we thought about it (this was my sister, myself, and my father) and decided what we would rather have. We decided....Lasagna! My mom's recipe! Loaded with spicy sausage.
Then we decided for Christmas we wanted Fondue....and for easter, we decided eggrolls. And not just for the play on words. We have a killer recipe for Easter Eggrolls. -
