Full metal Corset

topic posted Tue, February 5, 2008 - 1:05 PM by  Kofi
I'm working on a project to create a metal corset and chastity belt that will throw sparks with the liberal aplication of a metal grinder to its surface. Any suggestions? Does something like this exist alllready, or will I have to construct it myself? I was thinking of riveting metal plates to the ribs of a corset, but I'm concerned about the fire hasard. I know this is not an original idea, but its new to me. Any helpfull sugestions

OK, I am not a seamstress - I can barely sew a button- but here are my two cents:

I see quite dangerous the use of fire so near of skin or fabric, but maybe you can quit that for the corset design.
You have to put some lining on the inside (otherwise, it would be very cold to use for the wearer), and some interfacing to make it comfortable. Besides, the edges would be sharp and could cut through flesh.

I have no idea if something like this exists (I've never seen it). Have fun designing!

Dave Letterman used to have a gal with a full metal something-or-other that she used some power tool on to create sparks. Not sure if that's what you're talking about, though....

One of the best metals for making sparks is titanium...it gives off very bright sparks. Steel is much cheaper and would work well but would get hotter. Nickel might be better than steel...but I can't remember the sparks it would give. Stainless steel, which is easy to find and contains nickel might work too. Aluminum does not spark, copper wouldn't work well either. This should get you a start as far as materials goes. I only listed some of the easiest metals to obtain. Wikipedia and google should be able to help more.
