This year, and every year to 2012, we are celebrating the Winter Solstice with a more inclusive format through Festival Unificacion Maya. This event is open to all and is being presented as a community event by our village of El Remate, Guatemala. Throughout the week of December 15th to 21st you will be able to:
1. Participate in daily Sacred Mayan Fire Ceremonies on the shores of lake Peten Itza with Tata Pedro Cruz ... includes information about the symbology behind the elements that make up this most ancient and powerful of rituals.
2. Bring in the Mayan New Year (December 19th) by participating in the sacred ceremonies performed by a large group of Mayan Sacerdotes from all over Guatemala.
3. Learn about the Maya through classes in Mayan Calendar, Mayan Medicine, Mayan Symbology, Mayan Archeology and more.
4. Visit the Mayan cities with knowledgeable guides.
5. Celebrate nightly amongst the pyramids of Ixlu in "Musical Campfire Circles" and attend the Gala Night and Tikal Extravanganza in the same magical location.
6. And on the Winter Solstice join the Procession of Light through the Mayan Ceremonial city of Tikal as we make our way to the Central Plaza for the Sacred Mayan Fire Ceremony.
You can find out more about Unificación Maya by clicking the link at www.ixcanaan.com.
We would like to invite you to participate with us in these sacred ceremonies. This is a completely open event ... everyone is welcome! There is no charge to attend. Please pass this information along to others who may be drawn to celebrate in this way! And let me know if you have any questions or comments.
Thanks and Blessings ... Anne
