OK, I just posted a link in the review section to music that makes me want to get up and dance -- and take on the world, besides.
What kind of music do you find amazing? We each have favorite groups, but what style really gets you going, sets sparks flying, makes your day turn amazing just by hearing a strain of it?

Sat, May 26, 2007 - 9:27 AMYep, if Azhrde and I opened a dance club it could be called "Funk It Up".......that 70's shit gets me goin' every time. I dunno what it is but it just makes me smile.........THEN on the completely flip side (because I a crazy friggin' Gemini) a good session with Led Zep or AC/DC will really get me goin' too...... -

Re: Amazing music
Sat, May 26, 2007 - 10:33 AMGrrr...much as I love rock and roll, especially what is now considered classic, I'd have to be held at gunpoint to listen to Led Zeppelin. I know, greatest band of all time, blah blah....but I've just never liked them. When I was a teenager, it was sort of like a "cool kid" thing to me. All the kids who thought they were so cool listened to one and only one radio station, and they were constantly doing the "yeah....zep'lin, man...." drone. It nauseated me.
As for disco, I'm well aware that most of the rock and rollers hate it with a passion. But to me it was all about fun and dancing and partying and who you might want to go home with that night. And you could understand the lyrics, trite as they were. -

Re: Amazing music
Sat, May 26, 2007 - 3:46 PMIt's funny because when I was a kid, the same people who I listened with to Parliment and Tower of Power are the same friends who I would chill with to LZ.......but I hear what you're sayin' Azhrde. It never really made sense to me when the metal heads decided to "kill disco". It kind of made me sad because to me, disco was all about love and dancing with whoever and laughing and groovin' - so, it kind of ticked me off when they had that thing at Yankee Stadium where they broke disco records.......it was like a "book burning" or and effort to censor....it didn't make much sense. -

Re: Amazing music
Sat, May 26, 2007 - 3:51 PMAnd the disco fans were too busy having a good time to go throwin' around rock records. You're right, it didn't make sense. Disco was no threat to rock and roll. It survived just fine. Even Rod Stewart kept his pockets lined with "Do ya think I'm sexy?" and The Stones with "Miss you" during that what....year and half? -
