Faux Flower Stems and Leaves!

topic posted Tue, March 13, 2007 - 12:01 PM by  Crystal
Can anyone use these? I make hair flowers from the flowers... so I have a lot of Leaves and Stems (green plastic covered wires) left over ... I just hate to throw them out if someone can use them.
I will have A LOT in the next month. If you can use the leaves and/or stems, please let me know and I will save them for you.

I think they would be great to make a fairy costume, collage or something... I just don't have the time!

FREE!!!! You just pay the shipping!

  • I don't need more stuff in my collection BUT I have some ideas for you.
Schools: they can use them for decorating classes for spring or for childrens' arts & crafting projects.
    Churches: same as the schools.
    Daycares: same as the churches.
Soup Kitchen: decorating to add some joy to the lives of those less fortunate.
Womens' shelters: same as the schools and soup kitchens.
Festivals and fairs: decorating and floats or costuming.

Then all you have to do is pick whatever you prefer or is close and drop them off. It might be nice to quickly run up a list of possible crafting or decorating ideas to go with them.
    • Thanks for the ideas Gail... if it falls through with K Bunny- I might just do that!

Also... the stems would make a good start for small money trees... ever see those? Popular gifts for showers or weddings and such! They are sturdy! Maybe a school will want the stems to make little trees in diaramas or something!
  • I could think of tons of uses for the leaves.. not so much for the stems, tho. How big are they? Are they fabric or plastic? I'm interested in them.
    • K. Bunny... they are all fabric leaves... all different styles and sizes. Some of them do have some plastic supports running up the under side... like veins in real leaves. All the plastic on the leaves easily peel off leaving no marks though. I have used them to make some fairies- the leaves were skirts and shirts... I removed the plastic for that!
      :-)
Let me know if you need the stems or just the leaves... If you only want the leaves... it'll probably be cheaper to ship!
      • I want some leaves for sure! I'm looking for an easy shipping option - not just for this transaction, but for others to use as well. See my other post: Mailing and Shipping discussion.
        • I will definitely give you the cheapest USPS shipping option... I never pad shipping costs. The most these would cost would be $4.05 if you want Priority Mail... But I think these might even qualify for First Class shipping in a tyvek envelope... so the price could be as low as $1-$2! Especially if you only want the leaves... no stems!

          • Send me enough leaves to make a skirt... a short to mini skirt!! That will be my first leaf project. Stuff them in a box or tyvek bag... whichever you feel is best. Let me know how much.
            • OK... sounds good! I'll probably go through all my flowers next week... and make them into hair goodies! So, I'll set a goal for myself to have it done by next Thursday... how's that sound? I'll message you when I have it done and a weight/rate!
              Thanks so much!

Hey EVERYONE--- The stems are still available... anyone want about 30 fake flower stems???
              :-)
  • LEAVES!!! I GOT LEAVES!!! A whole box of 'em.... took a peeky-peek and they look great!!! Don't know what I'm going to make out of them yet. For now.. they are going on the shelf and waiting until I finish a BIG project I'm in the middle of.

Crystal - I might need more.. can you rake up more leaves and put them aside? Sending you your payment today....!!!
    • I'm glad you got them safe and sound!
I can definitely provide more... Don't you know... after I went to the post office with those, I went shopping. I happened to find oh... another 20 or so bouquets!!!! :-)
I'll definitely put them aside for you. I should be working on those again soon--- lots of vending events coming up= lots of left over leaves! :-)
