If you have a Michaels Arts and Crafts store around your area, check with them. That's where I got started. They have everything you will need for the classes -- you just have to bake the cakes and make the frosting at home. I took the 12 weeks about 5 years ago and haven't stopped decorating since then :) Use this link, put in your zip code and see what it tells you: www.wilton.com/classes/classlocator.cfm
Good luck and have fun decorating.

Sun, July 8, 2007 - 7:14 AMAlso, you can go to www.wilton.com/classes/index.cfm and find classes there.
Usually, you are asked to buy a kit of some sort (or are given a list of materials to purchase), then you learn techniques in class to practice at home.
If you aren't dead set on the Wilton method, most communities have independent baking & confectionery cookery specialty stores which offer classes too. I don't know where you live, but in the Bay Area, we have a few-- Cake Art in Marin, Spun Sugar in Berkeley, etc. I've taken cooking classes at SF City College and been happy with those, too. Just in case you live in the SFB.
