Best Thrift Stores in the Bay Area?

I live on the Peninsula so I frequent the Belmont Salvation Army on El Camino, The Goodwill store on 25th in San Mateo, Savers in Downtown Redwood City, but my FAVORITE thrift store is also the closest to me. It's the Thrift Center in San Carlos on El Camino because of the sales (I even put a picture in the tribe photo album!)

What's your fave local thrift store?

I need to find some new thrift stores. I have the thrift town in the Mission, but I'm not sure where else to go.... The Bins downtown is a bit of a hassle to get home from without a car...

When I was living in San Carlos, it was definitely the Thrift Center. But now that I'm in San Jose, it's got to be the Savers on San Carlos St.; I also like Moon Zoom on San Carlos St. for retro-vintage stuff but they can be kind of pricey.

I have found great stuff at great prices at the one on Haight Street, a few blocks away from GG park.

There is another one in you 'hood on Valencia at 26th that I think sucks. I rarely found anything good and prices are too high for what they offer.

In SF, the Thrift Town at Mission and 17th is great AND right next door to a wonderful fabric store! and of course walking distance to cheap lunch and for a treat, rose flavored ice cream at Bombay ice cream on Valencia betw. 16/17 :-)
There is also a HUGE Goodwill store at the corner of .... not even sure the street names? A few blocks southeast of the Market/Van Ness intersection..OK, Google don't fail me...1580 Mission!

I'd like to put in a word for East Bay Depot for Creative Reuse, which will be moving in the next few months to a new space on Telegraph at 47th--in the Temescal Nieghborhood.

there's a similier place in San Francisco west of Bernal Hights called SCRAP.
