It is a Tribe called "Service Animals" and it is for raisers, trainers and users of service animals. One of my goals with this new tribe is so I can learn more about other schools, other types of service animals (ie signal dogs). Also I want it to be a mega-mall of information!

So, if you know someone who is involved with service animals would you be so kind as to forward the link? It can be either on your tribe Friends' list or your private & personnel email lists (business contacts is up to you!). Also, posting it on your blog, your LJ, etc would also help to get the word out.

Thanks! Oh, and once it is up and running, feel free to drop by just to check it out or maybe ask a question....

But, I also want to stencil the top wih a Pagan motif, such as satyrs (especially), but I haven't been able to find anything. Still, if I can just find a drawing I can have a stenncil custom-made for my use. (Sadly, the only "Pan" stencil I could find was a rather "cutsie" version of a Brian Froud drawing. Now, while I *LOVE* Brian's work, I just don't want a cute imp-like satyr! LOL! Heck, what I really want for another box is a tribal raven motif for An Morrighan. ;o)

Improper "Big Pharma" Influence in Medicine is VERIFIED!

This is a BIG step in the right direction for health care in the USA! It has been no secret, but no one was talking about it since the monetary benefits that many doctors are receiving from these companies made this unlikely. I mean - if you were the type to only care about money (which is why many become doctors in the first place), wouldn't you want a free trip to Cancun by putting other people on basically unproven and even harmful chemical substances?

Catherine D. De Angelis, MD, MPH and Phil B. Fontanarosa, MD, MBA have submitted this timely (and likely unwelcome) article into the April 16, 2008 edition of the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), entitled "Impugning the Integrity of Medical Science - the Adverse Effects of Industry Influence."

What is even more awesome is that this was broadcast on the same day on the morning edition of Talk Radio's "Paul Harvey" show, so this information has come to the attention of many Americans today!

I am happy to see that some doctors do in fact have some integrity. This may also be an opening for safer alternative methods to be approved by the AMA for doctors to use and not feel like they will have their medical licensing taken away if they recommend a proven herbal remedy (as an example) instead of the new designer drugs of the day. I hope this allows them the courage to step forward now that the door has been opened!

We can help by showing this to our medical providers (if you have those) this article, and telling them about this, they can maybe take additional steps as doctors to become more able to practice alternative and natural techniques without risking their careers. Also, tell your friends in any way you can, so that they can demand alternative therapies be implemented or they will go elsewhere now that this article ought to free up other practitioners to use these methods. This also provides some validation for Alternative practitioners who have known about these dangers all along. Health care freedom (and responsibility) is up to all of us - please spread the message!

I was a bit overwhelmed yesterday by all the bath bars, beauty bars, deoderant bars, antibacterial bars....but nothing said just plain "soap bar." Ugh!

Unfortunately I don't have a picture.

But basically you print a photo of a loved one on a transparency and then cut a hole into the front of the pumpkin (after cleaning it jack-o-lantern style) and tack the transparency inside to cover the hole. Light it with an electric candle (or maybe even some white christmas/yule lights).

I thought it was a wonderful idea to remind us of those who have passed.

Hello fellow Witches! My name is Vashti and I'm new. I've been a practicing witch for about 11 years now. I am a wiccan priestess, and have a circle out of my home. I also offer spellcasting services to the public through my website.

Currently, I'm getting ready to build an altar shelf for my 11yo daughter as a surprise. My father has some plywood and brackets to hang it with, but it seems so plain and blah. Any ideas on how to spice it up? I could easily paint it, but I kindof wanted to do something really special for it. I was thinking of taking branches, twigs and stones from our property and making kind of a "backsplash" for it. I was also thinking of covering it with fabric, but I change my alter all the time (I love redecorating lol) and I've probably woven that little habit into her as well, she loves to help me decorate it. So, I was thinking of just painting it black, and then using silver or gold to write her magickal name and some blessings all around the outside edge.

Any additional advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you kindly, and many blessings to you all during this Goddess month of Mala!

I'm drafting my own patterns again, and I've only been guessing up to this point when making clothes out of stretchy fabric. Anyone have anyt ideas on how to figure out what the negative ease should be when dealing with various stretch fbrics? RTW patterns have that line on the back that you hold your fabric up to to check if the amount of stretch in the fabric matches the amount of stretch required for the garment.

Any ideas would be greatly appriciated. I'm tired of having pants turn out either too big or too small because the fabric has a diferent amount of stretch.

Hello everyone. I've been struggling with my beliefs as of late and I'm hoping to get some sound guidance and advice. I'm a Prodestant Christian but am strongly drawn to the Wiccan traditions. I think it's because I grew up Catholic. I loved the ceremonies and rituals involved in worshipping and praising God. The ringing of the bells, incense, repeated chanting, so on and so forth. I consider myself to be a spiritual person. I just recently discovered I'm a sensitive/intuitive/empath, I have always felt a strong connection with the natural world around me; plants, animals, trees, wind, rain, etc... I have had some strong spiritual experiences and don't think I could ever shift from worshipping my God to worshipping a Goddess. I've been told that I have a healing gift, have been a prayer warrior/intercessor and I enjoy listening/counseling people when I can. I'm trying to learn as much as I can about herbalism, alternative healing, etc... I've even started creating an alter in my bedroom.

I already know what my church folk would say so I don't even go there. I believe God is opening my eyes to many new things, as I'm constantly praying for wisdom and knowledge. I don't believe that you can put God in a box, which has limits. I mean come on, He's awesome! I mean, I believe He's the Creator of all that "we" love and enjoy~this awesome natural world we live in. Sorry--getting excited.

Anyway, how or can I even find a happy/comfortable middle ground within the two? Wicca and Christianity.

Blessings,

Hello Everyone!

I recently had an experience I would like to share with you all, if you will indulge me?
The school that I teach at has a yearly retreat. We camp, relax and do a variety of workshops
depending on who comes. It has been a few years since I last went on this retreat.
I was able set myself up in the community teepee. Later, on the first day I was lounging
by my stuff and noticed a large golden orb spider in my things. In the past I had a very
amazing experience with a unbelievably huge golden orb weaver.
To have an other visit by one of these beautiful spiders was an honor.
I'm always ready for some creative energy!
I did keep quiet about my spider because most people have no desire
to have the company of a spider.

One of my fellow retreaters who happened to show up was a native indian who goes by the
name of Harry River Bottom. He lead us in a sweat which was wonderful. But on the
last day I got my greatest gift of the whole retreat. Harry showed a few of us how to do
felt paintings. It is such a simple process and so much fun!
You use carded wool and createwhat ever designs you like with wool
of what ever colors you have available.
Harry had agreat variety to play with.
You also need a tray ( I used an old pizza tin )for support and to hold the form.
Add water and some dish soap, massage and tap until it all melds
together, then rinse the soap out.

Once I returned home I remembered my spider visit. I had to laugh!
I will certainly continue to explore this very simple form of weaving paintings.
Thanks Raina

Hi, My name is Star, and I'm new here. Hope I get to know all of ya! I live with my husband and 5 y/o granddaughter Chloe in Richmond,Va. I own PaganChild, a virtual and festival based 'store'. As the name would imply, we offer kid's stuff, mostly.
I was all ready to go to my 1st event of the year, when our truck died, so I can't get there on Saturday.
As I am sure you all are aware, Saturday is St Patrick's Day, not the most beloved in the pagan calendar. To commemorate this day, quite a number of us will be wearing snakes (as jewelry). Well... I am now stuck with a lot of black sculpey snakes w/pin backs.
I offer them here - $5 inc S/H to the lower 48. I wish I had a picture - they are very cute, all coiled up with little red glass bead eyes. My paypal is : pgnchld@yahoo.com - please include your address! These will go out tomorrow before 5 pm in order to make it wherever by Friday.
Anyway, enough of my selling woes! If you don't want to buy mine (since all of us are pretty crafty), please consider making some for your friends/family. Witches have no reason to wear green this Saturday!
Blessings, Star

* How to make a dream pillow *

Wonderful little pillows stuffed with herbs and spices to place under your pillow at night for sweet dreams and wonderful slumber.

Once upon a time, sleeping beauties laid their heads on pillows perfumed with sweet rushes and dried hops, that is how these little pillows got the name of dream pillows.
All households made wide use of herbs and spices in pillows and sachets, for both the fragrance and medicinal value. Day pillows would release a portion of the fragrance each time someone leaned back against them, dream pillows were placed under the regular pillow or inside the pillowcase. These were used mostly to help promote sleep and pleasant dreams. Even today you can visit many stores worldwide and find dream pillows for sale.

MATERIAL NEEDED:

2 pieces of your choice of material, any size or shape

Herbs and Spices (your choice)

Stuffing (optional)

Needle

Thread

Essential oils (your choice)

Zip Lock baggy

Ribbons and lace (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS:

Making your own dream pillows not only saves you money, but using essential oils increases their effectiveness and makes reviving them so much easier. The day before you are going to make the dream pillows, take the herbs and spices you have chosen for stuffing and put them in the zip lock baggy. Now add several drops of the essential oil or oils of your choice. How many drops to use depends on the size of the dream pillow and the strength of the herbs and spices you are planning on using. With herbs and spices, three to four should be sufficient, but if using stuffing, fifteen or twenty would be better. Seal bag and shake well to disperse all the oil, leave over night so that the oils will be absorbed completely.

For sleep dream pillows use chamomile, lavender, neroli, marigoram, valerian, nutmeg, or hops. All of these essential oils help promote a restful, goodnight sleep. For day pillows, you might want to consider matching the essential oils with the herbs and spices you have used, or make and match a different fragrance for each different room. Nice ones to start out with are lemon, clary sage, geranium, and sweet orange.

To make your dream pillow, all you will need is two pieces of material, any size or shape that you want. Stitch along three sides of the material, then turn it *right* side out, leaving an opening large enough to add herbs, spices or stuffing. Take the herbs and spice or stuffing out of your baggy and stuff this into your dream pillow, when you have it filled about 3/4 full fold over the ends and stitch closed.

After a few weeks, if your dream pillow seems to be losing all its fragrance, here is a way to revive it: open a small corner of the pillow and add a few drops of your essential oils onto the herbs or stuffing and stitch back closed. If you don’t want to go to that trouble, then just put a few drops of essential oils on the outside of the pillow and let dry.

With creativity and imagination, you can make wonderful tailor-made gifts for family and friends. You can decorate your dream pillow with a number of odds and ends, left over ribbons, buttons, and lace. Sweet dreams.
Ostara (also known as Eostre, a Teutonic Earth Goddess)
is the beginning of the agricultural year.
It is time for the Earth to "spring" into action and for us to initiate and celebrate new beginnings.
One of the most universal symbols of this sabbat is the planting of seeds and the sprouting of new life.
