Have you ever wondered where dreams come from? Do they bubble up from memories and subconscious desires? Are they created by elves, witches, and fairies? Yes. All of the above. And those elves, witches, and fairies have dreams too, and so do the creatures they encounter in their dreams, and so on.

In a dark and mysterious realm called the Nothing, an elf named Crypto is just doing his job, producing content for mortals' dreams. But he wishes he was somewhere else, a world of color and music-- Fairyland. The only problem is, Fairyland was only a dream, and the dreamers have woken up. To find it again he'll need the help of many friends-- a woodland witch, a poison apple dealer, a former cat actor, a sorcerer prince, and the long-lost muse who helped him realize he was an elf. Along the way he'll explore the dark despair and the brilliant joy that color the worlds of dreams and inspiration.

Crypto-Candida is a fantasy/comedy feature shot on mini-DV for a budget of under $2,000. A deeply heartfelt four-year collaboration between a team of talented artists and performers allowed it to evolve into a visual and auditory feast of unique costumes, make-up, sets, music, puppets, and visual effects. We guide our audience through many worlds, both dark and jovial, with sarcastic improv and somber poetry. Our goal was to inspire a revolution in low-budget videography, not as an alternative to film, but as a unique fine art on the verge of spectacular digital bloom.
