Mod change / BOINK!!!

sherpa will be the moderator of this tribe as soon as I finish posting this thread. Like it or not. In the past he didnt want it. I somehow waved my little magick wand and became mod. I don't even know how long I've been mod of this tribe. A while now. I always thought sherpa to be the most qualified person to mod this tribe from the first time I came oto, uh, onto it. But he wasnt interested in the past and I'm a total Tribe whore and I like what I like and got behind the wheel. sherpa isn't perfect. I'm not perfect. Noone is. This is a simple fact of life. I now pass the torch of moderator-ship to sherpa. Please welcome him as the new mod. If anyone has a problem with this I'm sure it can be discussed in a civil manner. lol

Cheers sherpa. I love you man.

You made the tribe moderated and kicked people off? I liked it as a public tribe but okay. Others may view it as censorship but I guess you have a good idea of who is full of shit or just here to troll or whatever. Sometimes I don't always know if someone is actually a troll or not. Like the last most active thread. There is alot said on there that when I read it I have a hard time distinguishing what is acceptable and unacceptable. And even if people say things that are out of line I just let it fly for the most part unless it is blatantly inappropriate. Even then alot of times I wouldnt do anything unless one or more people complain. I just hope that there is still room for people to disagree on things. That it doesnt become a place where everyone is required to think alike. But I guess that's how some tribes are anyway. Like the RAW tribe. Not that everyone is required to think alike though. It's more for people that love RAW. There arent many people on that tribe that are coming on and saying negative things about him or being shit disturbers. And if their were people like that I suppose other people on the tribe most certainly would not dig it and the mod would probably take care of biznatch too. Hmm. sherpa gots tuh regulate yo. lol Interesting. Made me think of this song. : )

Thanks Mr. M for accepting my request to moderate this tribe. As someone who respects Dr. Hyatt's work and who has had the good fortune to collaborate with him on a joint book project, I am pleased to support a more open discussion of his ideas here.

However, I will not tolerate any more obviously disrespectful and/or slanderous posts. There are other ways to express our honest rage, disgust and indignation. After I saw myself joining in all the recent shit-slinging, I felt ashamed. Taking on the moderator role was my pro-active way of self-correction. I prefer to put myself on the spot.

I have no problem giving trolls the boot or kicking out anyone who automatically flames anybody that disagrees with their opinions. I will warn them once before taking action. Trolling and flaming represent just another form of censorship where contrary views are not allowed without attack or attacking the reputations of other posters.

I'm all for healthy disagreements and the vitalizing conflicts of contrary opinions; no problem there. I have a problem with any public disrespect or slander of those who post here and any attempt to diminish and/or destroy someone else's reputation. Find or create another forum for that. This forum is about discussing the radical ideas offered up by Dr. Christopher S. Hyatt.
