Kirtan is part of the practice of Bhakti Yoga, the yoga of devotion. In kirtan we sing mantras using the ancient, sacred language of Sanskrit. The syllables of the Sanskrit and the concentration on the mantras opens our awareness to the Divinity in everything, including ourselves.
Chanting mantras clears heavy energies from the energy field and raises our vibrations. As we repeat the mantras we continually strengthen our connection to Oneness, to the Divine, until we become in constant resonance with that vibration.
