    • It's tomorrow! I can't wait!
      • I'm really excited about this workshop, it looks like it will be a lot of fun! We are hosting a Jalsah that evening in our new space, we meant to have the information out much sooner, but wanted to have moved into the space for sure before making it public.

We're in, the space is awesome, and we'd love to invite folks to come and join us for music and dancing and community, at 1110 East Market Street (Market Square industrial park) Suite 4Q (go in and turn to left, almost at the end.) We'll get started at 7pm, with a small cover of $5 to benefit C.A.R.D.

Next time we'll get the info out much sooner, we wanted to try to schedule when our peeps would be in town for the workshop!

We're planning on doing the next one on November 23rd, so that the folks who came for the Gravity Lounge show can hang out and dance with us after the show! Its open to dancers/musicians/friends/and curious bystanders. With a small cover to benefit C.A.R.D. We're also thinking of doing one Dec 6th, to hang out with folks from the Briana and Kalaa workshops.

        See ya Tomorrow!
        • That's a great idea! I love the combination events. Too bad the jalsah is across the Bashir's show time. :(
          • Yeah, I just noticed that when I saw your CVAMEDA post, that sucks. I'm sorry about that, I didn't realize that you were having something at the same time, we had decided to do this in early september when we all sat down with our calendars and found the only day that MJZ wasn't slated to do anything. Perhaps folks will go and have dinner and catch the show and then maybe head over, we are usually there until pretty late. The last one ran until at least 1130. Its usually really unstructured, the music happens when the musicians get together and feel it and people just dance when they want to... no performances or anything like that... Let me know when your next extravaganza is at Bashirs, I'd love to catch it!~
  • I'd like to say that this was the most fun I've had at a dance workshop in years. It was information packed, technically complex yet understandable, and (mostly:)) doable. Many many thanks to Alex for hosting, Lucy for teaching, everyone for having a wicked sense of humor, and ACAC for letting us stay until just after closing. Encore!!
