In this post I will be reviewing some bike parts that are related to downhill (DH) cycling.
First off is a frame made by Azonic Bikes called the B52. This frame is a solid frame made from aircraft quality 6061 aluminum. It comes with a
Horst Link suspension which is fully active under both pedaling and braking. This means that no power is lost while the rear shock is being actuated, which helps prevent brake jack (power loss). It also features a replaceable derailleur hanger, a heavy-duty sealed cartridge bearing with 4 bar linkage, and a Marzocchi Roco World cup rear shock with easily adjustable geometry. With some of the highest quality materials mixed with a high quality rear shock makes for an unbeatable combination on the dirt.
Second we have a fork made by Rockshox called the Boxxer World Cup. This is the ultimate fork. With over 200mm of travel and 8" disc brake rotor mounts, this fork is unstoppable. It features a 20mm thru-axle, Solo Air Preload, Motion Control, Floodgate, External Rebound and Low Speed Compression and Floodgate Adjustment. This fork has more features packed into it than the mountain that it belongs on. This is the most astounding fork on the market and cannot be beat.
Third is the Mavic Crossmax ST Disc Mountain Wheelset. It features a new hub design for high efficiency and strength while specific ISM technology provides the weight savings. High strength and low inertia delivers the perfect wheel for epic rides on technical terrain. Balance between stiffness, rigidity and weight (redesign hubs geometry, wider dish, wider bearings spacing, ISM milling with spine, 19 mm internal width rim for tyres up to 2,3 inches) to reduce energy loss and provide more speed from power input, shorter spokes and Isopulse rear lacing to reduce tension cycles, balance spokes tensions from side to side, reduce material fatigue and finally improve the endurance of the wheel, and anodized, shot peened finish and stamped design to last longer in harsh mtb riding conditions. The Mavic Crossmax ST Disc Mountain Wheelset is constructed of Maxtal rims, Zicral spokes, and oversized aluminum hubs.
Lastly we have the SRAM X.0 9 Speed Rear Derailleur. If you are looking for a beauty 1:1 shifting ratio that is clean and efficient look no further. It shifts perfect in all conditions from very cold muddy rainy days to dry hot conditions and no problems in between. The weight of this derailleur is kept down to a minimum with the use of materials such as carbon, magnesium and titanium.
Stay tuned for more reviews. I'll touch on BMX and Road bike parts next time.
