some questions about your BM 08 camp

i've been keepin an eye on y'all since last year and i'm feeling curious...so...

-what is the maximum # of campers?

-are you close to capacity by now?

-what was your motivation to request 2 & D for a location?

-how many parties do you plan on having through the week?

-are there many solo folks planning to camp there or do most you know everyone well already?

-what does the camp fee include? (showers? water? food? )

-what are requirements of campers? (kitchen shift, etc.)

i couldn't find this info on your website.
if this info is somewhere and i didn't happen to find it, a link to that info is welcome as well.

lost at Sera Phi post NYE Cyphertown Breakfast

Hi,
I was at Sera Phi for the New Years Cyphertown breakfast, and I think I lost something there. Its a necklace with a beautiful, long rough cut piece of blue kyanite crystal, hanging at the bottom on goldwire wrap. The beads of the necklace are alternating light blue and a darker blue smooth round gemstones... one is labradorite, I believe, and I'm not sure what the other is. I've worn that necklace everyday for over a year, its very special to me, a powerful healing clearing and balancing piece, and I cant believe its gone... I dont remember taking it off, there is no clasp, so I cant believe it broke. But anyways when I got to the sauna that afternoon it wasn't there with the other necklace... I always take off and put on the two necklaces together, so I couldnt understand why the kyanite one wasn't there with my other necklance. Im almost positive I had it when I got to Sera Phi in the morning, so it had to be lost there or somewhere on the sidewalk (if not at the 1015 nye/revolution party). Really its a mystery to me how when why and where it vanished... its pretty heavy and obvious so I'm usually always aware of it. Please let me know if anyone has found it, and if there is a way to post/reach out to the larger network of folks who were there, could you please help me spread the word? I'd really really really love to have it back.

lost keys

Hi, I lost my keys early Saturday- its a bunch all attached to an orange carabiner- my car keys (Saturn, push button), my house key (gold/squarish), my storage unit key (round grey plastic top) and a few other small keys... I arrived Sat at 4am, camped at Cyphertown at 2 and F. I danced there till 9 or 10am, when I walked (I had no bike), to the port-o-potty at 2 and A, and then to my friends at 4 and A (Merkabah camp, big bamboo merkabah temple structure), and then walked back to my car at Cyphertown, where I discovered my keys were gone. I am fairly certain I had the keys when I left for my walk, and I usually put them in my backpack or attach the carabiner to my belt. I have no idea what could have happened to them, but they have to have been lost somewhere between the two camps.
Fortunately I had spare car keys in my trunk and was able to drive home, but I'd sure love to have all those other important keys back!
Please let me know if you found them, or if they are found during cleanup!
oh, and my car was parked past the chill dome and the big blue truck... if someone did a moop sweep of the camp in that area and maybe found anything ;)
Oh, and Cyphertown- you guys rock, I love you, another amazing Burn year, so many epic moments, sunrises, etc etc. Thanks for all you do to create such an amazing camp. Much love~

peace and love to all

Coming and going out of reclusiveness and healing in Occidental, I was called out to the Tibetan benefit on Sunday night. Several bits and peaces of love and reminders of the flow of Love moving through All, feel called to expression. I’ve been seeing different ways of our bodies “composting” energies that recycle and feed Gaia and All energies. Some people literally wait until they are dead to compost because they hold the energies so tightly within. Others transmute and flow it through the bodies creating different energies. I could go on about this but I have a few points of gratitude for the other evening. It was a beautiful vibe and I was so thrilled to listen to my calling to leave my comfortable hill! One woman socked me in the nose pretty hard while dancing, I saw stars…. Blessings to you, dear one, I don’t remember your name. it reminded me of the above. A kiss to your cheek transmuted any pain that came through my nose…. And to the beautiful one who tenderly placed a kiss on my forehead, that one moment of tenderness went deeper than current words in my mind can express, may all the blessings that move through you be carried on. And to the sweetness in reconnection with those who have traveled away and continue to share community and vision, love to you. I continue to be awed by what feels like simplicity and love to some and how profound it may be transferred to others. And to all of you there sharing the vibe and transferring the gift of donation and actions that moves into other forms of gift, many blessings and big love

March to Tibet Vids and Protest the Olympic Torch 2marow!

Thx for the incredible turnout at 1015 last night! The show went off! Three rooms totally rocking all night long, ritual opening with Tibetan Prayer, Brazilian Drumming, Activist Speakers, and enough BASS to shake some SENSE into the CHINESE GOVERNMENT!!!

March to Tibet is a "PARTY WITH A PURPOSE", and we sinserely hope that you will carry this intention forward by joining us to protest the Olympic Torch's passing thru San Francisco!

The Action will start promptly at 10am (so be there before) at Ferry Park, right on the Embarcadero.

Laurel is an activist who has been arrested inside China for acts of Civil Disobedience, and yesterday was arrested after successfully hanging a FREE TIBET Banner from the Golden Gate Bridge and dangling for several hours hundreds of feet in the air. This action has been covered by CNN, BBC, Gaurdian, SF Local Papers, and Publications and News Sources from all around the world! Scroll down for a vid of some local TV coverage of the action.

Street Team members will recieve special privilages at Cyphertown shows and on the playa! By passing out flyers or hanging posters street team members may earn free tickets to Cyphertown Shows, Free Drinks at Cyphertown Shows, and compensated admission to shows that you flyer at! This is a great way to get out in SF, get in free to shows you love, and have an icebreaker to talk to new people (flyering is FUN!!! you can even make it the worlds shortest performance art!)

We also have other volunteer positions available besides street team, like working door shifts in exchange for tickets, etc...

That is the sunday of green fest and the only party I've heard of that night!

It is a fundraiser for a show we're planning for April for Tibet.

THANK YOU TO ALL WHO PARTICIPATED IN CYPHERTOWN!!!

There is sooooooo much so say! So many visions gathered together to create what eventually manifested.

There is much to say, and much that will be said and discussed here and in other forums.

for now I offer you to use this space to connect with people who you met at cyphertown, to offer you favorite experiences, and your visions of the future.

If you have criticism or questions of what happened and the details, please address them to me personally and I will put you in contact with the team that was in charge of whatever part you're concerned about. Many times a concern was addressed, but not everyone knows everything and there are a LOT of things going on behind the scenes that you may not realize.

Many people worked VERY hard (and are still working very hard as I type on clean up) so let's please refrain from making this forum into a shouting match or a sifting ground for every little mistake or inaccuracy.

that being said please feel free to use this form for fun and casual reflection on our beautiful journey this last week, and after all the accounting and reflections is done (which will start AFTER cleanup is done) than we will open up some more serious reflection as to what happened, how we did it, and what will happen next year!

a very big thank you to all who participated,
and especially a HUGE THANK YOU to all who worked their asses off to make this project happen. There is a core team of people who busted out for months to make cyphertown, for many of them at the cost of a big chunk of their own playa experience, so please give them massages and love notes and strong drinks and anything else they need or want.

so much more I could write, but I gotta keep working here at Cyphertown HQ.

if anyone is in the bay and has some hands and time to donate to getting all our stuff sorted out (especially if you have a big truck) than please get a hold of me!

So....

Thought I'd get this thread goin' ... as I'm sure I'm not the only one missing belongings. Feel free to post items lost and items found... hopefully we'll get these things in the right hands.

So... the thingy that I'm missing that I would absolutely LOVE to reunite with is my super-cozy AYYA wear cloak. It's maroon with black accents... long coat (looks like a dress) with a hoody... sick buttoning pattern, tailored to the body, sweatshirt material. I left it at the base of the break dancing stage at C-Town on Sunday morning (after the all-night post Burn party). I have a good lead that it may have traveled to Portland.... and I would love for it to travel back my way. Please, please, please get in touch with me it you've somehow ended up with the dream cloak.

Lost but hopefully found

Ok so on sunday before I left I had by my stuff a Lemurian crystal about 4 inches long that I love and a black painted leather mask that covers one eye and half of the face. When I left I could not find it. Both these things are special to me and I would like to get them back if they are wandering out there somewhere.

Galactic Council and the HOME Project invites Cyphertown citizens to come thru at our 10 by 20 solar sound system set up near the food vendors..I heard we are next to some bio bus crew with another sound system.. resonant sun and I will be hosting and maybe opening up for other beat schemers.. so if you have beats..bring the I Pod or lappy.. simple set up since its small, we decided on not having turntables.. MCs.. come thru.. After party anybody have a space... lets all get together afterwords and make it the 1st decompression unofficial style..if its big enough to invite then we can spread word of mouth or make fliers... .. anyways..we'll be out there setting up Friday from noon on..for a few hrs.. or call me at 707-799-7235.. Cougar.... We are a Cyphertown allie so the space represents Cyphertown on the grass.. We'll have a table for general info on other events, activism and green info... got something bring it..someone want to paint bring the canvas and paint live.. we encourage art... See yah there... workshop follow-up

So, needless to say, for many reasons, workshops at Cyphertown did not go as intended this year...
~structures still being built early in the week
~gross misprints in the very confusing WWW guide (they missed thurs and printed tues twice, as an example, and next year theyll hopefully go back to the 2006 more user-friendly version for layout)
~my own self not showing up till Fri with supplies, to meet and greet folks, set up a space and schedule, etc... (due to unexpected personal circumstances- big apologies to all the workshop leaders, which I'll write to you directly)
~ the dome coming down thurs in a huge epic dust storm
~ possible pure uninterest in folks going to workshops, or in the ones offered...
~lots of reasons (any others I missed that you can think of...?)

HOWEVER, I have heard of a few of the workshops that went off fairly well, 40+ people, full successful inspirational presentations/co-creations.... so if you were there, or tried to go to a workshop at Cyphertown but were disappointed it didnt happen, or if you have any other comments, suggestions, I would *LOVE* to hear from you... for my own organzing efforts, I'd like to hear what happened, what went well, what was frustrating, what could be done better/different next time around....

yeah post aypocoliptic cypher town rocks.
loved the dance floor and watching the a-bom go off with every one.

4th Annual BRC Gathering of the Tribes Council, Sat.Sept.1,3pm

Hey Cyphertown, just wanted to make sure all the MC's out there were apprised of the biznatch going on on Saturday this year at Green Man. I've invited Robin and any Cyphertown hedz to come stir it up with the citizens of Black Rock City for the following....

Stay tuned for the Shamanic Cheerleaders and friends heralding the 4th Annual BRC Gathering of the Tribes Council in the Entheon Main Dome at 3pm with Dj Imagika and MC's from Cyphertown. Throughout the week there will have been discussions happening throughout Black Rock City including Entheon Village and Pod Cluster with it's Palenque Norte Playalogues. This will be an opportunity to experience the distillations of those conversations in addition to participate in a facilitated council with citizens of Black Rock City. The central theme is about how we collectively will be taking the Green Man consciousness into the future. An awards ceremony will be held at the end for the efforts made to projects that have been happening to green the Burn.

Cyphertown is FULL!!!

Howdy Family,

In these waning days til the burn (10 and counting for me!) we have recieved a major wave of registerations, and have pretty much filled the aloted space given to us! This is GREAT news. There will be open playa camping behind us, and we would still be open to you camping near us and making a contribution to the community to participate in the camp personal community and green room gathering place!

As of now the population of Cyphertown is at 86 people.

If you have already communicated to us that you are DEFINATELY camping with us and we talked about your forms and money than don't worry, you are included in this number.

Cyphertown is a exponentially expanding circle of input... the playa is ONLY the begining.

We are still open for artistic collaboration, so please point the hip hop heads our way! And we will still be accepting love letters and kudos here at this address.

Yo Family!

15 days til the first group of us depart for the playa! Two weeks from tomorrow, the Cyphertown early arrival crew will be shovin off to start building the camp on the playa! Most of the rest of you will be kickin off two days later (that's 17 days!). We're feelin good here at Cyphertown HQ. There's a little bit more fundraising to do (do let us know if you know of any good friends who would be willing and able to drop $500 or $1k or more to help the last little bits of this project manifest!).

Things are really comin together, and so many people are working SO HARD so that YOU can have a great time at Cyphertown.

Big thanks to the Portland Chance of Rain Crew for bustin ass on our Green Room Cyphertown Community Shade Structure and all the other odds and ends that they're pullin together! That would be Nick, Ilian, Raighan and crew!

Also, send out yer love to Alegria Sita, who is our registrar queen and logistics helper! She's been working hard to make sure that we have all relevant info and money that we need from everyone and BUSTIN OUT on the spreadsheets and organizing!

that means arriving in Sebastopol by August 20th. If you plan on sending forms and checks thru the mail than this probably means that you need to send it by the 16th or 17th.

If you are sending the form online and can pay your reg fees thru Paypal, than you can wait til the 19th to send them.

But check it. The longer you wait to send your information and money, THE HARDER IT IS ON THOSE OF US THAT ARE WORKING TO ORGANIZE AND MANIFEST THIS PROJECT.

Alegria has donated so much of her time and effort to organizer registeration, please honor her by making sure that she has everything she needs from you ASAP. She will not be physically present at the registeration address after the 20th of August, so this is the ABSOLUTE last day to get registerations in for Cyphertown.

3. Provisions and Personal Responsibilities - Water, Food and Trash

Burning Man is a Do It Yourself (DIY), Survival, Leave No Trace event. This means that whoever you're camping with, you should be prepared to survive completely on your own. That being said, here's what you can expect from Cyphertown:

Water - We are working on getting a large supply of water for the whole camp so that we don't all have to waste individual water bottles, but as of yet this is NOT worked out. At this point, PLEASE PLAN ON BRINGING YOUR OWN WATER. Every person on the playa needs 2 gallons a day drinking water, and a little more for washing, cooking and tea. It is best to get the big blue opaque 5 gallon round water containers. Disposable water jugs are HIGHLY discouraged as they are HORRIBLE for the environment. Please plan ahead and get some big water jugs for your crew. If we work out big water for the crew we'll let you know.

Food - More on Food below. So far only about 20 people have signed up for our food program. If you haven't signed up and sent money for food or talked to us about it than we are NOT planning on having enough food for you. Please be ready to bring your own food. If you are not on the food program, you MAY have access to the kitchen equiptment, but first priority for the prep space will be given to the the crews working on the meal plan. If you're doing your own food please be prepared with your own camping stove and equiptment. If you are on the food program, please bring your own utencils and bliss ware (cup, plate, bowl, spoon, fork, knife). Also, if you are on the food program, please bring plenty of snack food for yourself and a good healthy dose of back up, incase you're hungry when we don't have food (PB and J supplies and other stuff like that is HIGHLY encouraged for EVERYONE).

Trash (and Recycling) - Cyphertown will not be collecting trash for anyone. We will have a trash recepticle for refuse and recycling generated durning the event from our camp, but we are NOT planning on hauling out everyone's personal trash. Please bring trash bags and plan on collecting and packing out your own trash and recycling. There are several recycling stations in Reno that have been setup in store parking lots just for burners (please wash out your recycling before dumping):

4. What's the Community Gonna Look Like?

So far we are from: San Francisco Bay Area, Portland, Santa Cruz, NorCal, Colorado, Reno, and Indiana!

The physical plan for Cyphertown is a bit different than the origional vision. We will have one main 60' dome with our main sound system, our main stage, our raised and lit break dance platform, and artwork. This will be where most of our programming is held. In front of this we will have a fire circle, and flanking on either side of the dome will be graffiti walls and paints.

Behind the Graff walls and a line of RV's we will have our private camp for Cyphertown Registrants and their close family (please, only invite close family and people you know back into our private camping zone, hang with people you just met in the public area). We will have a 40' Green Room Structure that is being created by Nick Sixmind and the Portland Chance of Rain Crew. This space will be ours to chill out in, decompress from staffing the public dome, and relax. Please bring decorations, tapestries, misters, music, pillows and comfy stuff to share in this space.

As a community: There will be a LOT of prep work to be done. Every registerant in Cyphertown is requested to help with setup in the first few days of the Burn. A crew of us will be out there early to set up, but we don't yet know how much will be taken care of. Please be ready to pitch in. We have many coordinators of different areas of the camp. Each of these Coordinators will be heading up a team to take care of that sector of works within Cyphertown. Please begin considdering what teams you would fit best on and contact the coordinators of each team once you have decided how you'd like to plug in.

Construction Crew
This Crew will be building the Main Stage, Break Dance Platform, Kitchen Counters, and Graffiti Walls.

This crew will be assembling the Green Room Structure and the 60' Main Dome. Note: We do not know when the crane will arrive to assist us in assembling the main dome. When it does (before Tuesday), we all need to be ready to drop whatever we're doing (exept cooks) and help assemble the dome. We will need 12 strong people for 6 hours, and 20 people for 4 hours to assemble the dome. Please be prepared to help with this and on call for it (this is everyone, not just structures crew)

6. Cyphertown's Green Plan

Many of the organizers of Cyphertown are environmental activists. This being the first year, we are scraping together whatever we can to make this manifest. Many of the grand ideas of greening Cyphertown that we have cannot be implimented this year due to insufficient funding and people power. We will be continuing our greening efforts in years to come.

This year:
- We will be running our electrical inferstructure on B100 (biodiesel made completely from plan sources with NO petrolium mixed in)
- We will be composting and recycling
- Our meal program will be mostly organic and local
- We will be using a Solar Sound System as our secondary sound system, for Cyphering and mobile usage

7. Food Program

So far we only have about 20 people signed up for the food program. If you haven't been to the playa before you may not realize how amazing it is to be able to wander around and not have to take care of your own food all the time! Participating in a meal program is VERY awesome and convenient on the playa.

We will need to have a final food program count by August 16th. Please register for this VERY SOON if you want to participate.

For anyone participating in the food program: Please bring your own bliss ware (plate, bowl, utensils, cup) and bring snack food and PB and J supplies to augment the program when you're hungry at odd times!

Also, a great idea is to bring tupperware as your plate/bowl. Bring a couple. That way you can take your food wherever you want to!

8. How you can help in Preperation - WE NEED TRUCKS!!!

Things we still REALLY need:

TRUCKS!!! We are going to be renting one truck at least and maybe more, so if you have a truck or a van or a trailer that you can haul stuff to the playa with PLEASE LET US KNOW ASAP!!!

Couches and Carpet. We want to have a comfy space for everyone. It's really nice to have carpet on the floor. If you are able to cruise to carpet store dumpsters and pick up old carpets that would be great! If yer able to bring a couch or a bean bag chair or pillows to the playa please let us know! If anyone's got sewing skills and would be down to make a bunch of pillows and stuff them with cotton that would be great!

Ambient Lighting. Xmas Lights or Rope Lights or Lamps! We need lots of this stuff!

Small Sound System/Stereo for the Green Room. Wouldn't it be nice to listen to tunes during the day in our Green Room space? Do you have a small sound system or a big stereo that you could bring?

Recycled Lumber. We are going to be buying lumber to build our stages. If you know of any place that we can salvage lumber from (in the bay area preferably) please let us know! Plywood especially!

We still haven't found anyone to make an artful gateway and small fence along the front of Cyphertown. Bamboo maybe? If yer interested in this let us know.

11. Total Lunar Eclipse visible from Burning Man on Monday, August 27th!

There is going to be a total lunar eclipse on the night of the 27th of August and the very early morning of August 28th. It should start about 11:00 to 12:00 PM on the 27th and end about 3:AM on the 28th. We will be able to see the entire eclipse at the Burning Man event. This will be the first ever total lunar eclipse at the event.

I'm currently assembling a crew to screen out the skin for the greenroom structure. The idea is to fill up at least the easily visible part with all of our personal icons, images, signatures, tags or whatever. Here's what I need from all you: email me images. do it now. I want representation from as many people in the crew as possible. Something simple would probably ease my process and I might need to adjust images in order to get them in place but they will be from us. Pace yourselves friends. Burning Man is a full-on city, and like any city, it is what you make of it. You can plan your days and nights hour by hour and stick to a schedule, you can wander for a week waiting for the perfect unfolding of random chance happenings, you can make yourself a loose map made of intentions with certain events as highlights marking the way. However you go about it, remember to pace yourselves friends! There is so much happening, it's easy to go-go-go and not want to miss anything. There are so many opportunities available, so many experiences waiting to transform your world and flip your life upside down and right side up again. What do you want out of this week? Where are you looking to open, expand, heal, learn, transform? What parts of Burning Man offer opportunities to make that happen for you?
And where, within our micro-cosm of camp, does Cyphertown offer to help make these things happen for you? Is it in the evening Coffee House performances, the storytelling and singing late night around the fire, the impromptu rhythm and rhyming dancing playing jamming that will happen whenever, wherever, is it sitting down with friends and family to chat and rejuvenate over a dank healthy meal, in the stunning line up of Mainstage performances, or in one of the daily Workshops waiting to enrich your creative expression?
Get excited friends. Come prepare to be inspired, and shifted in ways as of yet undescribable and unknowable. We are standing on the precipice of a global shift of culture. With so many artists in one place, what better place than the playa to bring collective creativity towards a higher consciousness of social change, the essential shift towards the world in which we wish to live? What better place to empower each other to nurture the artist within each of us, and our abilities to create the changes we wish to see in the world?

(The Original Vision)
Workshops will be held in the Cypher Space, with the Main Stage and the Coffee House serving as secondary workshop spaces. Workshop topics will include the teaching of hiphop skills (i.e. break dancing, graff writing, dj'ing, rapping, modern dance, etc...), hiphop activism, capoeira, West African drumming, non-violent civil disobedience for social change, and others.
Intention: The purpose of Cyphertown is to provide a venue for artists (realized or not) to come together and "throw down" their skills to create interactive art. Cyphertown is an organization that bridges hiphop with other successful and inspiring communities and cultural movements. We believe that hiphop holds many crucial tools for emerging culture to utilize. We also believe that many movements exist that could lend their flavor to hiphop culture. By building these bridges, we hope to foster alliances and evolutions that will serve the greater world and communities toward social, racial, and environmental justice.

Cyphertown workshops are meant to provide a forum for us to share skills and empower one another... they are available between 11 am up until 6pm, each day in the main Cypher Dome (unless otherwise noted). We've tried to pull together a diverse blend of workshops that connect within the context of hip hop related movement, issues, and arts, and enhance our abilities for creative expression. Whether it involves dance, inner and outer-personal communication, poetry, or more, they are all in some way connected to our urban communities and woven with musical movements.

We are still open to more workshops being added to the schedule, or for people to come out and share their skills, however formal or informally that might happen, structured or not. In particular I'm looking for more in the areas of hip hop skillz, hip hop activism, and capoeira to step up. If you want to get on the schedule, let me know, even if you tell me on the playa Tuesday night that you want to do an impromptu b-boying session Wednesday morning, for example. We'll have a camp schedule posted and add all new events to it! But the more pre-burn and on-playa advertising we do, the better the turnout. Feel free to gather your friends for a session and open it up for the random passerby, too... its all in the flow, its all flexible, up to the last minute, this is the organic evolution of playa-time, remember. Go with your map of intentions, and lets begin!

(PS, to further the educational benefits of Cyphertown, we are planning to create a media resource center at the camp... if you have any suggestions, or resources to contribute, let us know!)

In addition to his work as an artist, Apostle is also a Hip Hop educator and social activist. For the last 6 years, Jeff was the founder and director of his own non profit organization, Colorado Hip Hop Coalition (CHHC). Apostle is currently in the studio working on a solo project, which is as yet untitled. He frequently speaks at colleges and universities around the country on utilizing music as a tool for resistance.
The word Apostle means to be a leader or an advocate of a new cause, or the pioneer of a movement. Whether working as an artist, activist, or educator; Apostle, Jeff Campbell, lives up to its meaning.

This wordshop explores poetry's transcendence of individual self-expression and leads us into the fertile territory of collaborative collective storytelling. It provides a safe and playful environment to experiment with the power and possibilities of synergy...with a poetic flavor. Audette Sophia is a poetess, performer, and educator. She has a B.A. in Integrative arts and an extensive background in multi-disciplinary performance. Intelligent Movement, the grassroots transformation of Hip Hop.
This workshop guides audiences through Hip Hops' cultural origins, to its current state, and the methods of bringing Hip Hop back to a social movement of cultural pride, economic empowerment and self awareness.
Led by Apostle: Inspired by the political Hip Hop of the late 80’s and early 90’s, Apostle (also known as Jeff Campbell), is a spoken word and Hip Hop artist from Denver, Colorado. He is also a vocalist and songwriter for underground urban dance music collective Heavyweight Dub Champion.
In addition to his work as an artist, Apostle is also a Hip Hop educator and social activist. For the last 6 years, Jeff was the founder and director of his own non profit organization, Colorado Hip Hop Coalition (CHHC). Apostle is currently in the studio working on a solo project, which is as yet untitled. He frequently speaks at colleges and universities around the country on utilizing music as a tool for resistance.
The word Apostle means to be a leader or an advocate of a new cause, or the pioneer of a movement. Whether working as an artist, activist, or educator; Apostle, Jeff Campbell, lives up to its meaning.

4-6 Jubzz, with Chance and Donny
Liquid and Waving
We will go through a brief discussion on the history and basics of the liquid and waving styles of dancing. Afterwards we will go through some exercises to help unlock our flow. Then we will move on to practicing the foundations of liquid and waving. Once everyone has a solid grasp of the basics we will team up and learn to do some multi person flows and wave trains. Everyone will be invited to mob out to a soundsystem that night and bust out what they've learned.
Jubzz: I've been in love with and studied electronic music and hip-hop dance culture and styles for 6 years now. Trained by the old school jedis of the storm raves and nasa in nyc, I developed a unique liquid based dance style that is my pleasure to share with you.

Mmmm, Cyphertown is emerging strong and clear, manifesting every angle of supply and facilitation - we are raising the vibration in preparation of the activations of the Cypher Station.

Still need a few more council member positions filled....

Visual Arts Coordinator - Will Coordinate visual artists involved in the camp, the collection and hanging of art in the domes, coordinate the two art installations in the camp and the fence and front gate creation.

Lighting Tech - will coordinate lighting and the lighting crew in the camp.

Electrical/Generators Tech - will research, reserve, rent, install and maintain generators and electrical wiring for the infer structure of the camp.

Green Man or Woman - will coordinate the green crew, responsible for Trash, Recycling, Compost, Grey Water, Plumping and MOOP.

Comfy Coordinator - will coordinate the comfy crew, responsible for carpeting, ambient lighting, alters, furniture for the green room, and other comfy stuff.

Head Fire Keeper - will coordinate the fire circle, obtaining fire wood pre-burn, collecting scrap wood to burn on the playa, the crew that will supervise and facilitate the fire circles.

False Profit, LLC has just released the results of a three-year study entitled, “Inner Ear Neural Linkage to the ‘More’ Impulse”, which challenges the widely held belief that people desire money.

The study revealed that the ‘More’ impulse—commonly deployed by economic behaviorist models to account for people’s apparent desire for profit—is actually the result of rapid neuron firings in the inner ear.

“Quite simply,” said Alison Bank, a Senior Researcher for False Profit, LLC, “it’s all about the Bass. Or more accurately, about more Bass.”

They discovered that the impulse, however, has been frustrated by the silencing of the Outer Atmospheric Bass—a result of the Big Bang—by the excess of greenhouse gases produced by the Industrial Economy. Our desire for Bass, apparently, has lost its way.

False Profit, LLC has invited everyone to participate in their continuing study of the ‘More’ impulse at the Poleng Lounge, this coming Thursday, June 28th. There is no placebo group.

Wassup Friends,

This is a brand new tribe to focus information on Cyphertown.

Cyphertown will be THE home for hiphop on the playa at Burning Man 2007!!!

We currently have 55 hiphop artists and enthusiasts signed up to camp with and co-create our space. We are still looking for more people who are down to get active and be dedicated to manifesting this community on the playa. Cyphertown will be a place for us to interact thru the hiphop modality and will feature such activities as:

Break Dancing
Graff Writing
Turntablism
Spoken Word
Live Looping
Story Telling
West African Drumming
Capoeira
Workshops
and any other hiphop related evolution that you can imagine and contribute!
