Take every move you know and slow it...... wayyyyyy..... down. Work through islolations and movements with a new understanding of the muscles being used and learn a whole new level of control.

Unveiled Dance Company's yearly show is not to be missed. This years production of "Elemental" brings several styles of belly dance to the stage with the same theatrical stagecraft as ballet and modern dance. Elemental is a representation of the four elements: Earth, Fire, Air, Water. Portrayed through four styles of belly dance: Folkloric, Tribal, Classic Egyptian, Modern Fusion.
The production takes you on a journey through the elements, exploring our emotional and spiritual connections to each; and emphasizing the importance of balance over all. Don't miss your chance to see this one-of-a-kind performance.

Troy Daze Festival!!

The annual Troy Daze Festival starts today. There are tons of performers, including many different ethnic dance groups, scheduled all weekend. We (Czigany) are performing on Saturday evening at 9:00 on the outdoor stage. The festival is held at Boulan Park, 3671 Crooks (between Big Beaver and Wattles). The festival is free , but they do charge for parking.

Tribal Improv Class

Just a quick reminder about our Tribal Improv and Veil Class tomorrow from 12:00 - 2:00 at the Best Western Sterling Inn. The hall is located at the southwest corner of 15 Mile Road and VanDyke in Sterling Heights.. Feel free to dress in costume if you have one. Not everyone will, so if you don't have one don't worry about it.

We will be focusing on chorus work tomorrow and then touching on basic tribal veil techniques. If you have never done tribal improv this is a great place to start.

Some of us are meeting before class at 10:00 for breakfast. The restaurant in the hotel serves brunch starting at 10:00. If you would like to join us let me know you are coming so I can call ahead for reservations.

Tribal dance and drum day

We are hosting a tribal dance and drum day on Sunday, August 6 in the Monterey room at the Sterling Inn and Conference Center in Sterling Heights. We will be there from noon until 4:00. For those who are not familiar with tribal dance there will be an informal class from 11:00-12:00 to go over the basics so everyone can join in and have fun dancing.
So, bring your drums, zils and dancing shoes and join us on the 6th.

Last night's show

We made it through our first full-length show with every troupe member present.! All 9 of us plus the 2 little girls were all there in the same room at the same time. This was the first time that we had all of us together in a show that wasn't a studio recital or hafla.
The transiitions between each dance went very smoothly and I think the people who got up and danced with us at the end had a great time.
Thank you all for making it a success!!
