a portrait of a dead woman. She passed, so early. She left a son and so many that I love loved her. I mixed the ashes of her remains in the paint. Essentially, I painted her with her. It was a hard piece. My hands shook, when mixing paint.
She was someone I did not really know well, while she was alive. She became a symbol of not waiting to grab the brass ring. She was someone I "knew" I would becomes at least acquaintances with, if not outright friends. When she passed on, I sort of soaked up all the sadness of my friends and it sat in my skull for a long time. This painting did not release it, but it put it to rest.
