We were on (barf) Fox News tonight...
They did a clip on Escondido at our Dog Park and a new law that 'might' come about in regards to aggressive dogs and posting their addresses and making it a law that they must wear muzzles - kind of like the sex offender Megan's Law...public records would state where aggressive dogs live....Witch hunt ? Maybe. In certain cases, it could be a good thing, but could get out of control...as in a witch hunt.
I hate Fox and the way they report stories.
I had all 3 of my 4 leggers there with me so I waited until they left...My girl, Kyra has been having some dog aggression issues lately with other dogs, especially smaller / weaker ones - not good. The last thing we need is more bad press on Pit bulls. Anyway, Winston my big lump of love, Boxer, walked over to the fence to see who I was talking to (the reporter about the story). Not realizing they WERE filming me and Winston - he was doing his ''wooo wooo wooo'' bark - howl thing - I overheard them say - Oh yeahhhh, look at "this one", look at the size of his head, get a shot of him...
So tonight at 10pm the news clip comes on and shows him only barking at them, not his talking (woooooooo) and says that people might have to muzzle their dogs, like ''this one" whilst showing Winston. I nearly rolled over laughing - he is the sweetest boy and they portrayed him as aggressive....too funny. Our 15 SECONDS of fame...lol.

Cool that he got to be on TV. Sucks that he was portrayed as mean, though.

Tue, April 22, 2008 - 7:23 AMI'm glad you were able to laugh at it. I would have been pissed if they tried to portray one of my dogs as aggressive! -

I can't explain it really - but just imagine you're sweetest little furry friend barking in a playful way and then they capture it and
SPIN it to be an aggressive dog... It just seemed hysterical (to me) ... Reporters, on average are such jackasses.
He is HUGE for a Boxer ( 98lbs ) so he looks sort of intimidating, but absolutely loves people and most other dogs.
It's ironic that out of my 3 dogs that day, they got him and not the ' evil' Pitbull or Rottweiler...
I can't wait to tell my parents - they're conservative, fans Fox News and now I can prove my point even more about its' reporting...

Re: Winston's 10 seconds of fame...
Tue, April 22, 2008 - 12:27 PMMeh, Fox or Faux News, as I like to refer to that conglomerate of SUCKITUDE always is pulling crap like that.
Cause it's always the big loud dogs that are the problem in dog parks. Never the small fear- aggressive ones, not the untrained or unsocialized dogs, never the under educated or un mannerly owners, nope.
Just whatever big dog is out there WOO WHOOO ing to his heart's content. Which is what dogs like to do, by the way, and God love 'em for it.
Eeesh.

Tue, April 22, 2008 - 7:23 PMI'm not sure if they were saying "like this one" to aggressive dogs (showing Winston) or to dog parks. LOL. -

Re: Winston's 10 seconds of fame...
Tue, April 22, 2008 - 9:20 PMHolie crapolie.
You are right...thanks for pointing that out. It's the visual, the way they did the video that made me think
it was in reference to the pic of Winston. I just noticed Kyra goes up to the fence right up to the camera
to get in the mix too...Thanks for pointing that out. I was wrong...my bad.
