            sheep are idiot - savants. Once they find a hole in the fence and get out they will keep running into the fence even after the hole has been repaired.
            If perfectly healthy sheep get too stressed, even if there is absolutely nothing to worry about, they will just lie down and die.
            that's the idiot part.

            They can recognize up to 200 faces of the other sheep in their flock.
            I have seen them figure out how to open the gate latches.
            I have seen them out fox the dog.
            that's the savant part.

            I just love the little darlings!

                  My sister and I had a rat named "Lunch" (it was her rat, I looked after him when she went to grad school) He was named so because he almost was lunch to a snake, but the snake was shedding and not hungry

                hey Snake! On the ranch where I train dogs to herd sheep I will sometimes name the sheepies. The owner doesn't name them. They only get names if one comes to me or they deserve it. Like Ashley (white female) & Cinder (black male, also born with a white "M" on his side) were named because they were born during the So Cal Station fire evacuation, Spot & Patches are white w/ brown areas. Spot's are smaller. Buttwipe is a lamb that has a brown patch on his right flank, but that's not why I named him that. It's because he will lie down and not move when a dog approaches. A novice dog can't budge him. Chip & Dale are twin lambs, one has a pink nose and the other has a black nose.

                Really naughty sheep get the lunch menu names.

                I also name objects around the ranch.... the water tub that the dogs cool off in is The Dunk Tank, the box of kennels where we put the dogs between lessons is The Drunk Tank, but it becomes The Ice Box in winter.

                  Cat - this is not directed at you... you simply posted the video, so I'm not trying to flame or be over the top, just trying to explain.

                  -- I think the video is cruel to be honest ... I don't like putting fear into an animal... any animal... the sheep wearing the mask doesn't understand, it can barely...or I should say - can't see, it's confused and the herd is scared too... I don't mean to be a wet blanket or over the top --- It's not majorly cruel - it's just that l like to bring joy to animals lives not fear...

    What a cute pit - I've never seen one with markings like that. Mine would never keep that costume on.

    I felt bad for the little sheep in the second one - it was kind of funny, but sad too. But they didn't get hurt (I hope), so I'm sure it wasn't too big a deal. Some people just have too much time on their hands - which give the rest of us something to laugh at. ;-}
