Today max was especially glad to see me when I got home. We flopped on the bed, layed on the sofa, played fetch, then he wanted to play CHASE ME..... so I ran out the back door in my socks down the hill yelling "Im gonna get ya" went to turn onto the grass, hit the brick landing i sealed/waterproofed last weekend went airborne, hit the bricks , ass, back, and elbow.....slid down 3 steps, and hit my head. Im so sore already, cant wait for tomorrow.....LOL. DAMN DOG........... NO RUNNING...... or maybe I should wear shoes........sigh . Damn, who thought bricks would get so slippery, Thats some awesome sealer.....

Re: NO RUNNING........
Sat, October 10, 2009 - 5:58 PMSo true thistle........ I thought of that too, specially at my old age..... and a history of neck.back and leg trouble from old injuries
big bruise on my left cheek (not my face) and a knot under the skin a bit sore and some numbness in my arm and head. To compound it this morning on our "off leash day" he bolted for the first time towards some big dogs he wanted to meet and wouldnt respond to "wait" or "no" like he usually does. So i threw my coffee to go, chased him and had to dive and grab him. Glad we were on grass......... Good thing I love him and understand he is just a lil boy. Twisted my arm in the process....... I should be dead or in a nursing home by weeks end......lol
Thanks for the concern and posting his last vacation pic in the album. If I recover we are off again this week for a few days for a new adventure....but right now I just want a hot and a demerol.....

Re: NO RUNNING........
Sat, October 10, 2009 - 9:47 PMOuch! Sorry to hear that. I've injured myself a few times - or the dogs got me - when playing with the 'kids'. Duncan loves bottles and rolled up magazines and used to jump for them when I'd hold them up and try to keep them away from him. I went to work once with a faint black eye because his paw (and claws) caught me. This was all when I could walk, mind you.
I'm glad that you didn't break anything. I ache just reading about your injuries though. I hope you feel better soon. -

Sun, October 11, 2009 - 11:19 AMsomehow I knew I wouldnt be alone in this..... Thanks
One time i fell and hit my head on a streetlamp, cut open my arm and was almost knocked out. Saw stars. As i shook it off i saw max looking at me with his "CMON, WTF are you doing screwing around" look....... sigh -

Re: NO RUNNING........
Sun, October 11, 2009 - 2:37 PMI have a huge list of injuries from dog (and cat) incidents. Many have required hospital or doctor visits and multiple stitches and tetanus shots etc.
Drinking and tripping over the dog while on hardwood stairs doesn't mix!!! The cops show up at the hospital and ask all sorts of questions about domestic abuse and then question your roommate about a possible fight.... HA HA HA HA HA
Then you get pamphlets about alcoholism....

Re: NO RUNNING........
Sat, October 17, 2009 - 7:40 PMOh... and watch out for running dogs. I was at a dog beach once, and watching my own pup who was in the water. I did not notice to american staffordshire's, probably 60 and 80 pounds who were playing and running toward me. Both of them crashed into my knees at full gallop. One of them didn't seem to care much, but the other was very sweet. She hung out with me while the other dog kept on running. She seemed genuinely concerned about what had happened.
The knees healed, but I was limping for about two months. Lucky not to have broken anything.
