Silly Dog Behavior

So another post got me to thinking........

Loki ignores most people at the off-leash trail we hike on. He sometimes sniffs people, then walks away.
He did get awfully excited and lick some guy's face that was squatting down, on his level.
But if someone is wearing a red shirt, he stops about 20 feet away from them, raises his hackles and barks like a crazy person.
He also shows the same behavior with asian people (who tend to be afraid of dogs).
And he humps other dogs at the park, but only younger, male dogs. Generally of the lab persuasion. Size doesn't seem to make a difference. And he seems to find the dogs that have cute boy owners, but that's not quite the way I want to meet someone :)
But if other dogs want to hump him, he ignores them.

So what weirdo things do your doggie-dogs do?
What behaviors surprise you about living with a dog?

Scarlet doesnt like people with hats, puffy coats, long coats. Im sure b/c she cant make out a body shape.
She will throw herself at any unfixed male dog. But she will rip a new one to a fixed male that tries to hump her, but will let unfixed males hump her. A little trashy and I always make her stop.
She is not very fond of other chows that are her same color.

Smokey doesnt like people with full/fluffy beards.
He pees on little fluffy dogs at the park or on walks. I cant figure out why, but he has peed on numerous poms and a few mini poodles.
He also will seek out unfixed males and stalk them, and when they lose interest in him he throws a fit and screams and cries until they follow him around.
He drools really bad and will rub the drool of on peoples pant legs (he is very obvious about it too) and then when he is done sliming your pants, he demands but rubs. And will back himself up on you until you give in.
He really has bad dog park manners.

My old dog used to bring out all his toys when this one particular neighbor came over. But only when he came over. King would get all his toys out and bones lay them all out. And when the neighbor would try to grab a toy to play with him, the dog would grab all of his toys then carry them back to the room and attempt to bury them in the closet.
I often thought he was like the bratty little kid who liked to show off all his awesome toys then when someone wants to play he takes them all away.

My little guy barks at odd things, sometimes poles, (he seems to hate red poles), reflections (in the tv, mirror, glass, etc) and other times I can't figure out what he is barking at. He also has a severe foot fetish. He loves to lay on feet, lick feet, play with feet and has likewise obsession with shoes and socks.

Daisy: Feeble little old dog, flies into a snarling, foaming at the mouth rage when she sees an African American male- women don't bother her a bit though. When I originally adopted her from a city shelter 12 years ago, the guy who tended & hosed out the pens was black, so maybe he was nasty with the water and she holds a grudge after all this time, but it's embarrassing- I have a racist dog. Also, when she poops on the living room rug, it ALWAYS on a dark brown section of the pattern, and some of those sections are very small, so it has to be deliberate.

Dutch: thinks it's the funniest thing in the world, when Daisy is in the yard laboriously trying to take a dump, involving much sniffing to find the perfect spot, circling, gingerly lowering herself into position, then, BAM! He tears across the yard and crashes into her, sending her flying.

Also, when I'm sitting on the toilet and unable to get up and run after him, he'll go to another room and steal something he's not supposed to have and bring it to just outside the bathroom door, where I can't see him, and drop it and rustle it repeatedly so I can clearly hear he has something forbidden, and he'll keep making noise with it until I can get up and chase. If I try to ignore him, he'll make more noise and start chewing it up- just to fuck with me. And if I'm working and unable to pay attention to him, he'll grab a forbidden object and happily trot past the door where I am- his walk gets really bouncy so you know when he's deliberately being bad. And if I stand up to go after him, he immediately drops it, happily trots to his crate and lies down, like he knows he's getting a time out and just can't help himself.

      I never do anything weird........

Katies does....she spins counterclockwise when she's excited and always turns to the left when she runs out to get the ball that was tossed...

Don't ask me how I know directions....I just do....

      Woof!
