When you're in the mall...or whatever...

So you're in mall for whatever morbid reason you have to be in the mall (Mac wipes or something :-)
There's a group of girls or group of boys standing outside Bebe. It's hot so you're in a tank top. Im no longer talking about your bush k? but hair that people can see everyday. Our armpits.
You walk by and the people start whispering, then pointing then laughing.
Why do you do it? no really. why do you do it? not cuz it's natural, cuz picking your nose is natural but we don't do that in public either.
really. why do you do it?

Here's mine.
I do it for humility. I'ts hard sometimes, and I like hard. It's persecution and I like persecution. It's different and I like different. It makes me "hot" when I'm not and gross when i'm hot.

SUMMER TIME

Well, it's that time of year.....Last Sunday my wife had me shave her underarms while she took care of her legs. She wanted me to enjoy the last opportunity I would have of her roughly eight months of growth. I tried to get her to keep the hair, especially since it was starting to fill in nicely, but she would have nothing of it. What with bathing suit and sleevless shirt weather she did not want to continuously feel self-concious of her appearance. I do have to admit that here on the east coast, very few if not any women display their "natural beauty". When she fore-warned me that the time was nearing for her to shave I found myself researching more and more websites of "natural" women. My intent was to show her that there were thousands of other women who simply enjoyed being their "true" self with no inhibitions. What I came to learn was that most of the women I came across were mostly european. I even learned that over in Europe and Asia women with hair are deemed to be very "sexy". Wait a minute, I MUST BE EUROPEAN or I need to move to Europe. Anyway, as excited as I was, and it was quite obvious, it was not enough to convince her to keep the hair. Now I have to wait four months before she will stop shaving and another 2 to 3 months before it becomes obvious. Woe is me! EUROPE HERE I COME! Nah, can't afford it yet. Hopefully I can count of our fellow tribe members to get me through the summer. Any advice is greatly accepted!

Newspaper Opinion

I usually read The Independent Newspaper here in the UK. Coincidentally yesterday, in a regular fashion commentary area, Susannah Frankel wrote this column in the link below.

I found it unusual she did not simply attack Anne Robinson (of Weakest Link fame) or Julia Roberts for keeping their underarm hair and as a whole is an even article (until the very end with a comment from the writers' husband). I emailed a response last night which included part of a post I submitted here in Cayce's 'Mother asked me' topic. I usually voice my opinion on any topic I feel strongly about, so I never shy away from defending women who keep their body hair or telling people I find it beautiful. I know there are obviously women here in our tribe who set a great example to others by keeping their body hair, but I wonder if anyone, male or female, has any experiences of speaking up and defending natural women when the topic arises that they might like to relate to the tribe here. Please see my response to Mrs. Frankel's newspaper opinion below. (I signed my full name and postal code when I signed off at the end of my original email).

Dear Mrs. Frankel,

Thanks for a generally positive yet neutral article on female body hair (and yes you are right, Julia Roberts IS still pretty with underarm hair). As you have alluded to, most media coverage of this 'outrageous' topic is decidedly negative or foul. As you might have realised from your brief poll (with him lol) there is a contingent of men and women who believe female body hair is certainly natural and attractive and yes quite sexy and feminine (some even prefer it "sticking out like a big bush" from wherever it grows).

Moreover, the physical aspect of it can be quite compelling when a woman decides not to shave or wax etc . . . Even more intriguing
is the independence and confidence (not to say a woman is not confident if she shaves etc . . .) of a woman who chooses to stay 'all natural'. This mindset is even more attractive/sexy than the hair itself.

I find it strange that society at large (thanks to Gillette amongst others) has come to believe a natural secondary sex characteristic for both sexes has somehow only been attributed as normal or "attractive" on men. I think deep down within both sexes minds, we know body hair on women IS attractive and sexy. Perhaps this is really why our society is not "allowed" to have or see this body hair on women---because it is a reminder that women are sexual too----it is a primal reminder---and perhaps many in modern life cannot accept that such an outright sign of feminine sexuality or sexual maturity can be visible?

If a woman decides to keep all her body hair, I suspect she would end up keeping like minded or understanding company and partners
(and save alot time, money and pain in the process).

Gosh you have such pretty legs why don't you shave them and isn't it kinda weird you don't shave but paint your toenails?
ummmmmmm, HUH? Color is adornment the hair is me ;) Well that was when I was 19 now at 40 and she 60 she gets it a little better!! Proud to be hairy or not, painted or not...... still all power, independent and very much me ;)
