@
Spring4th Center
726 Spring St
Atlanta, Georgia
(starting September 5th)
*parking at Arby’s in spots marked 728, on street, or at Parking Deck
Lessons Will Focus on:
- Proper classical technique for striking the drum
- Timing
- Basic/Intermediate Arabic and Turkish rhythms
- How to add “spice” to the music you already know, and the rhythms you already play
- How to drum for dancers (yes, there is a difference!)

Whether you already play, or are just getting started, this class will tighten up your sound, enhance your understanding of the instrument and the music, and make you a competent drummer capable of playing with a band, for dancers, or just for fun!
(class is Bring Your Own Drum, loaners may be available)
Cost is $10

Just wanted to let everybody know that it's ok if you bring a drum other than a darbuka. You won't get the full benefit of the technique portion of the class, but the rhythm theory class will help you understand how to "fit in" with this kind of music, and play something the dancers will recognize!
