Does everyone get these? I get them every day. I havent responded in the last month or so. I used to reply back with something like "I'm a faggot you stupid whore." Something like this. Do you guys respond? Or do you just delete these SPAM messages? Below is the latest one I just got. I havent kept up with the profiles. Usually I just delete the message and move on. In the past I have saved the message and within a day the profile is typically unsubscribed.

Re: One A Day? Or more?
Sat, April 4, 2009 - 5:21 AMpeople.tribe.net/feecbc5b-...204ac55a4f - reginalove
This is the profile of the one I just posted. There is usually very little if any profile content from these people. Who the hell would actually respond to these things? It seems like a waste of time for the sender. Maybe if someone e-mails them they can hack their puter and steal all their money? Or maybe they are women from other countries that want to be paid mail order brides? Or are they women being sold as sex slaves?
BOINK!!! -

Re: One A Day? Or more?
Sat, April 4, 2009 - 6:14 AMI got one just like that the other day. It was in my "other mail" folder. By the time I read it the sender was unsubbed. If it is not really people looking for a husband it could be some ruse for a diffenernt product. Like a bait and switch. It might be interestig to actually email back and see what happens. -

Re: One A Day? Or more?
Sat, April 4, 2009 - 11:19 AMWhenever I get one of these, asking me to respond to an email address, instead of through the Tribe message system, they are always yahoo addresses. I always do a yahoo search for the address, and usually it turns out to be something written with a bunch of cyrillic alphabet letters. I delete them, and do not respond.

Re: One A Day? Or more?
Sat, April 4, 2009 - 11:17 AMIts people phishing for your email address. They always ask to correspond by email. Its always listed as "other mail." I delete them and click ignore them on their profile. But I think you can report them to Tribe. But they just come up with new personas. Sometimes I get a few in a week, then nothing for awhile.

Re: One A Day? Or more?
Sat, April 4, 2009 - 1:00 PMSpam scams have sooo ramped up in "this economy". There's always someone who wants me ta grow my penis bigger! ;D
Lately when responding to apartment ads I get emails from these jerkoffs from Nigeria or Lagos who want to rent me an apartment in Santa Monica.
Why can't we reach into the internet and slap people sometimes?!? -

Mon, April 6, 2009 - 12:51 AMI hardly ever get them. When I do, I just delete, usually without even reading it. -

Mon, April 6, 2009 - 6:53 PMThrough Tribe private messages. -

Re: One A Day? Or more?
Sun, June 7, 2009 - 12:56 AMI used to advertise spare rooms on a Share Accomodation website.
I would occasionally get emails from 'overseas' girls who worked with the WHO or the UN and were stationed in Africa, and could they pay for 1 month in advance and send extra money and their BMW and antique furniture as well.
I would always reply - send whatever you want - just dont expect me to still be here when you arrive - I'll be driving around the country in a new BMW!

Re: One A Day? Or more?
Sun, June 21, 2009 - 5:38 AMthis is the oldest scam in cyberspace often called "the nigeria scam" becuase all the women seem to be from nigeria and have a rich uncle who just died and they need YOU to access his bank account,or they "want to get to know you personally" so they can scam you another way.
Here in Tribe,I get about "one a week" and just delete them,it doesn't do any good to report it to the TOU,becuase these scammers just change their Tribe handle and they are "right back next week".
what boggles me is,people actually FALL for this crap! I mean can't they see a scammer when it is staring them right in their face(e mail?)
*if it sounds too good to be true,it very likely is!* -

Sun, June 21, 2009 - 6:20 AMother mail? what is that? i dont believe i hae ever noticed "other mail" in fact i dot think i have a button for other mail. Am i missing something? -

Re: One A Day? Or more?
Sun, June 21, 2009 - 9:21 AMCoach, at the top of your Home page click on 'My' then click on 'My messages' on the left hand side you'll see a list that starts with Inbox. Other Mail is the second one down.
-
Re: One A Day? Or more?
Thu, June 25, 2009 - 9:50 AMGeneral "other mail" is phishing or scams. I think it comes from out of your tribe region. I have only received one non-spam or phishing message there. -
-
Re: One A Day? Or more?
Fri, June 26, 2009 - 9:47 PMI have read that if a private message is sent to you from someone who is a friend or a friend of a friend, or farther in the friend chain then it comes to your regular messages. If the sender is not in a chain of friendship at all it goes to the other mail folder. That's why spam usually ends up in the other mail.
I got the rare one today, but then it was within moments after updating my profile, when people browsing profiles see you at the top of the page.

-
Re: One A Day? Or more?
Mon, June 22, 2009 - 9:54 PMI hardly ever get them. Two or three a year, perhaps. I just delete after reading. But I have wondered why some people get so many, others hardly any. -
-
Re: One A Day? Or more?
Fri, June 26, 2009 - 9:54 PMI answered one and had the clandestine rendezvous at a restaurant. It was some damn vacuum cleaner salesman trying to sell me a RainbowVac. It's just a rude, rude shock let me tell you. -

Wed, July 1, 2009 - 11:02 AMSorry for the technical difficulties. This is what we call a WV. That is an acronym for whore virus. Our estimates is that 2013 should have this purged.
