Re: Turkey or Ham? Chicken? Duck??
Sat, November 17, 2007 - 9:18 PMDuck. Turkey is too dry. Ham is too salty for my taste. And chicken doesn't have much natural flavor to it.

I spent 8 years in a row eating vegan thanksgivings I will ALWAYS have turkey on thanksgiving from now on. I wasnt Vegan but a lot of my friends are so I always respected it but this year I was invited to a dinner with fish and no turkey I said I would come by for a drink later on -

Re: Turkey or Ham? Chicken? Duck??
Sat, November 17, 2007 - 10:46 PMTurkey...
But frankly I look forward to the homemade pumpkin pie more... Not the canned nastiness... or the store bought dry overly sugared pie... The fresh pumpkins, steamed and blended with fresh spices kind... also the pie needs to be very moist... not nasty dry...
Yeah I am rather specific about "me" pies...
I love homemade dressing as well... always have... The meat I consume in moderation...

Re: Turkey or Ham? Chicken? Duck??
Sat, November 17, 2007 - 11:19 PMTurkey for Thanksgiving and ham for Christmas.
The clue to juicy turkey is to get a cardiac needle and inject the bird. It was so nice having a brother who was an EMT and would get one for me every year. My birds are always moist.

Wed, November 21, 2007 - 6:58 PMIf we're talking Christmas (we don't have thanksgiving here) my preference is ham off the bone. I generally don;t eat ham but it's the perfect meal on a hot xmas day with thousand-island dressing....mmmm, yum. -

Re: Turkey or Ham? Chicken? Duck??
Thu, November 22, 2007 - 12:23 AMI like turkey and thanksgiving at my parents' house.
It's my gig this year --- I lost the election...
We're having turkey, cornbread and oyster stuffing, cranberries sauce with pears and walnuts, garlic mash spuds, green salad, corn, peas, honey carrots, sourdough rolls, yam thingy, devil eggs, stuffed tomatoes, Lays with ranch dressing, Fancy Mixed Nuts, wine, beer, margueritas, pumpkin pudding, apple pie and dad's favorite, banana cream pie...
And then we have a cup of coffee, smoke a joint, and we all pass out.
Happy Thanksgiving everybody!
