Sun, November 6, 2005 - 6:03 PMI haven't lived in LA for a while, but there is a great market called Mercado Buenos Aires and I believe it's around that area. Glendale appears to have a lot of Argentine restaurants and markets... I'd do a search on the internet, or try to find the Directorio Argentino, it's free and it has all kinds of listings.
I'd advise you not to buy that kind of stuff from Catalina's market though... in my experience their stuff has often been pretty old... -

Thu, November 17, 2005 - 6:35 PMRight near me, but not too close too you, are fantastic alfajores! It's "Empanada's Place", a block away from me, on Sawtelle just south of Venice Blvd. (just west of the 405). Tambien hay empanadas increibles! A proposito, soy Jason. Creo que tu no me conoces... Pero soy un miembro de Gigsville, and the Ministerio de Ciencia Desconocida (www.tmous.com). -

Sat, November 19, 2005 - 6:59 AMI just returned yesterday from Buenos Aires and discovered alfajores. Too bad I didn't read your post while still there, as I live in Playa del Rey and had space in my luggage. Hola a todos vosotros! Me encanta Buenos Aires! Me encanto ese viaje pero lo que me gusto lo mas era la gente. Tan amables! Volvere algun dia... -

Wed, July 19, 2006 - 7:34 PMHi,
It's a bit far from you, but there's a place in Orange, CA (in Orange County) that sells yummy alfajores (bathed in white or regular chocolate). It's called PASTA CONNECTION.
2145 W.Chapman Avenue. Orange. CA.(714) 541-0053.
If you're down that way...they also serve great fresh gnocchi on the 28th of the month!
Good Luck--yummy--now I'm craving them.
Did I happen to meet you at a nuclear family party?
