y'see, that's kinda how i feel about pride in general. it's a way for capitalist fucks to take advantage of a historically less exploited market, and sell all our socially encouraged/forced addictions back to us. but...like i said, i'm stuck in a racist, sexist, homophobic place right now, and the thought of being surrounded by thousands of other queers almost makes it worth it. though it is true that being mutually queer doesn't mean we neccessarily have more in common than anybody else, but at this point...i'm willing to give it a shot. and i mean, it is a bit of a rite of passage in some ways. i've only ever been to calgary pride (alberta, canada) and lemme tell you...a couple hundred folks marching in the pouring rain is more depressing than anything else, so i'd be kinda stoked to see something on a large scale.
