There will be a film event at the Jazz Club. That much is certain. I'll be talking to Alex more about it this weekend, and of course working on the particulars over the next few weeks.
What I'm shooting for: A tower of thrift store televisions 8 or 9 feet high, playing a series of shorts in the Jazz Club parking lot. The size and complexity of this project may vary, but that's the overall concept. If I can, I'll leave televisions on random street corners playing the same thing. I'll mix in some random clips from suitable films like "Even Dwarfs Started Small" as well. There are many other things that may happen in that vicinity as well, some of them having to do with Vikings and Catholic rituals.
What to call the event? Fourth Street Film Festival is too pompous and too tacky at the same time. Unless I hear something better, I'll publicize it under the headline "THIS IS NOT A FILM FESTIVAL!"
