I like this exercise for the external obliques. You need an apparatus like this where you can hook your ankles and lean back at an angle. Make sure your back is straight, and your abs are long and pulled in. Then take your weight, start with 5-10lb--a plate works well because you can grip it in both hands-- and twist to touch each hipbone 15x for a total of 30 counts, and repeat this exercise 3x. Keep the chest lifted and try not to let the chin lean down too much. Use a beautiful posture, and keep it pulled in. Helps make nice sidelines.
