Dancers of De Nile

public - created 03/14/08
We are a fun-loving group of women and young ladies who love the art of bellydance and are keeping it alive Way Out West. Our age range is from 11 years old to lovely ladies in their 60's. Why are we called Dancers of De Nile?? Because we are in denile that you must bellydance to only Middle Eastern music. We not only have beautiful dances to ME music but to country, hip hop, and modern Japanese music also.

The troupe was started in 2001 by Badrea Talua, under the name Jazella Wade meaning Deer Valley, who changed its' name to Dancers of De Nile two years later. The troupe's first performance was at a Fall Festival put on by the Deer Valley Community Center, where Badrea still teaches classes today. Performances then continued at the AZ State and Maricopa County Fairs in 2002 and thereafter. Although some troupe members have come and gone, the troupe still performs at the AZ State and Maricopa County Fairs, and holds monthly bellydance parties at Over Coffee.

So come see for yourself what a great time you can have bellydancing.

TAKE INEXPENSIVE CLASSES with Badrea, Director of Dancers of De Nile, through the City of Phoenix at the Deer Valley Community Center. Classes are taught in 8 week sessions. Beginner classes are taught on Tuesday and Thursday nights, and Intermediate classes are taught on Thursday nights.
