Dancers on the mend

public - created 12/13/06
Welcome! If you’re struggling to recover from an injury, facing a surgery, managing chronic pain, broken bones, sprained or strained something, have a skeletal or muscular issue, fighting illness, or have just been instructed to sit it out for awhile and heal, this tribe is for you!

It can happen to any dancer at anytime. Even professional dancers will tell you that injuries are part of the life of a dancer.

Injuries can be minimized with appropriate training, professional supervision, executing proper technique, attentiveness to posture and alignment, and always warming up and cooling down. Unfortunately, even the most diligent and careful dancer can still end up on the injured list.

This tribe is dedicated to the many dancers out there in pain and trying to cope with the temporary absence of dance in your life. We’re here to listen and encourage you until you’re ready to safely take that next magical step. You’re not alone.

We do not endorse any particular doctor and do not dispense medical advice. These are individual experiences and observations. Please consult with a qualified health professional. And keep dancing mind, body, and soul!
