I've shared toothbrushes with the kid, and to the best of my recollection, every ex wife (one) and ex girlfriend, excepting one (she was prudish anyway). More often that not, it was they that initiating the sharing, but I have no problem with it. I guess that means that I'm a better toothbrush planner than they all were.
I just don't get the ick factor here. But in the space of the last minute, I've come to the conclusion ... you are all weird. -

For me, though, it's icky because I am PSYCHO about rinsing my toothbrush in hot water, and replacing it often, and so on...and not everyone else is. I don't know HOW long anyone else's toothbrush has been there, nor how many little food bits they didn't rinse out, nor if they had a cold and there are cooties on it, etc.. Toothbrushes just seem like a breeding ground for icky stuff, so I prefer to have my own.
I'm like that with mascara, too. Some things just aren't meant to be shared <g>. -

Tue, May 20, 2008 - 8:31 PMI hosted a dinner tonight and polled the five lingering folks on the shared toothbrush issue. Unanimously, they asked, "with whom?" And as long as it was a significant other, only one person seemed mildly squicked by the idea. No one else had a problem with it. -

as for the toothbrush issue, i personally don't really ever have the
occasion for anyone else to use mine - i have one for the man and
a couple spares still in packages, but it seldom comes up...
i don't use other people's because i always have one in my purse.
all that said - i think it *does* depend on who... i might use someone
else's... the occasion just hasn't ever arisen so i can't say for sure. -
