Re: SA Belly Dance Festival - Thank you!
Wed, May 2, 2007 - 6:00 AMAmazing, fun and inspiring. I really had a lot of fun, this being my first public performance, it is certainly not the last. Perhaps this is a biased opinion but the Feminine Divine is just something else. We may not be perfect in technique but we certainly came across as being more than performers - we somehow seem to have more soul when we dance.
I've only ever seen slow dances with the wings and Tenille, your choice of upbeat music was refreshing.
I was really interested to see the various styles of performing that was on show. The two ladies from Gauteng who danced to some very modern music took a lot of getting used to. My favourite non-Feminine Divine performance was the Raqs Sharqi Group (I think) from Durban/Pietermaritzburg. Their choreography to a slow indian sounding song still plays over and over in my head.
Now that this is out of the way, I am looking forward to our own Feminine Divine studio show in September.
Thank you Tenille for the wonderful exposure.
