Hey, Wanna share some with you all again.

In this world of tormoil and strife, I have feel like I have been
reborn, How?? Its called the Aloha Spirit. The Aloha Spirit is
something you cannot see or touch, but when you believe in it and
live it, The Aloha Spirit is there with you guiding you,Protecting
you and one with you. For the past 5 months, I have kept this on my
bulliten board above my desk, and everyday when I see it, read it, I
am inspired by it. My co- workers read it and ask about it I share
with them my feelings about the wonderful islands of Hawaii, her
people and her music.

One Guess, who I talk about, You Got it Our Dear Bruddah, Danny
Couch, Da Man. He so truely brings Hawaii's People,Culture and Music

DANNY COUCH & OTHER TOP HOKU WINNING PERFORMERS @Made in Hawaii Festival

Wow what a summer...I'm home and trying to catch up with email, the
website, finishing another site for a client, starting my own photo
site and saying HI to friends I've been out of contact with.
Sorry bear with me and Forgive me.. Ah yes my leg has slowed me
down.. for those of you not aware, I fractured my leg in two places
while I was teaching sailing in Hawaii.. On the fourth day of my
three week visit of all things. I was instructing what not to do to
my ROTC cadets attending our Leadership Academy in Pearl Harbor.
But I managed to get my toes in the sand, or in my case "Sand in the
Toes" and get along on crutches (the curse of any leg injury) and at
times in a wheelchair. For the last two weeks after returning home
for two days and managing to fall down the stairs (yep the cursed
crutches!) I cracked a rib which really slowed me down. My DH and I
cruised up to British Columbia on our boat on it's shake down
cruise. For me it was more like my shake up cruise. Unfortunately
my leg is now reset in a fiberglass cast for the next three weeks
cause it's not healing! Looks like surgery may be in the forecast.
Oh Joy!
I did however get to attend Dannys show again which was the
highlight of my trip. (in a wheelchair, talk about surprising a
friend?)LOL

Before time gets away from me again I want to let you know that
Danny's show keeps on getting better. When he sang "Music of the
Night" for me closing his show I cried like a baby! His voice is
back in volumes. Wait till you hear him! WOW

Danny will be performing again at this year's Made In Hawaii
Festival. If you'll be in Hawaii don't miss this, last year Danny
performed to a sold out audience!!!

SHARK BITE AT BELLOWS BEACH Thursday July 20, 2007

A shark bit a man at Bellows Beach (near Waimanalo on Oahu).

The guy who was bitten was indeed very lucky, he was 150 yards out off the beach which is pretty far out, and although still shallow is fish and turtle territory, He even stated "he was following the turtles". My husband and I were on Bellows with over 100 Navy Jr. ROTC cadets at the time.. Believe it or not for several of them this was the very first time they had stepped into the ocean AND they were asking about just this subject just prior to doing so. Jokingly my husbands comments were, don't worry they don't eat teenagers, you're too stingy.. YIKES! The main problem while we were swimming was the jellyfish and our main concern.
They were saying the shark was about 7 to 8 feet long. This attack was very unusual.The last time a bather was attacked was 1958 and they say it was due to the over abundance of Sea Turtles in the area (remember they are now protected and on the endangered species list, sometimes we end up hurting ourselves by playing with nature's forces). Many turtles were found and seen by us along the beach both on Bellows and Lanicai while we were there, some in various mulitated conditions. BUT this shouldn't impact you from visiting one of the most beautiful spots on Earth.

For Real... think about this... This fellow was over One and a half football fields length away from the coastline (probably conservative in the amount of distance). Swimming and snorkeling ALONE! (isn't that a bit foolish to begin with? Ever get a swimming cramp?) In the photo you can see the lighter colored water and how far out you can actually walk.. this guy was way out past the light area.
Our group of over 100 students, just prior to the attack had found a carcass of a turtle, obviously bitten by a shark on the beach, not far from the guard tower, clean cut through the shell. At first thought we figured a propeller from a large boat. We had brought it to the attention of the Lifeguard and asked if there was any concern?? there was only posted warnings of jellyfish in the water but not even Box or Man o War Jellyfish. He stated no sightings of anything except turtles had been made and it was safe if caution and common sense was used and not to go into deep water since jellyfish were seen along with a few stings reported.This fellow swimmer (shark bait) had been hailed several times, whistle blown ect. while we were in the water, hailed to return to the beach, he was way too deep and the guard was getting concerned he would be caught in the rip as the tide was changing, he wouldn't return to the beach or acknowledge the blown whistle.
Who's at fault? The shark for trying to catch dinner in his territory? or the person persuing him? (amonst the turtles, do you really think you look different flailing about in deep water?)

Bottom line is Bellows is as safe as any beach, if not even more so now due to this episode and the concern of the park rangers, and lifeguards. Use common sense where ever you swim anywhere in the ocean listen to the lifeguards for goodness sakes and don't feel you are invincible! This can happen all over not just in Hawaii... alas this being the first time in almost 50 years at Bellows/Lanicai. Where unlike many beaches there ARE lifeguards on duty for your protection. Never swim where there isn't a guard for you own sake.

"The Voice of These Islands" Danny Couch's New Show In Waikiki Review

"The Voice of These Islands" Danny's New Show In Waikiki~

On June 18th I was honored with being a guest at Danny's new show which is being held at the historic, Princess Kaiulani Hotel 120 Kaiulani Ave. Central Waikiki Next door to the International Marketplace, across the street from the landmark and refurbished Moana Surfrider Hotel
(The First Lady of Waikiki is Re-branded as the Moana Surfrider, A Westin Resort) and Waikiki Beach.

From the moment Danny took the stage and raised his microphone.. his voice memorized his audience, as it has for so many years in the past. His voice raised in song bringing smiles and memories to those who lingered to hear more.. songs requested by those listening once again, to his magnificent voice, those who have been deprived of seeing him perform onstage for several years. Me for one! We've missed you Danny!
Seeing and hearing Danny once again was as if being included in a tight knit circle of ohana, truly a treat to savor. On this night Danny performed to many long time fans and special friends. Getting to meet many of them was an added treat. Danny personalizes his new show even more than in the past by asking for special requests from his listeners. For those temporarily awoken enough from their trance to request their favorites this particular night he added "A trip down Memory Lane", with his singing of songs from his "Then and Now" cd including, Waikiki, Kalua; Combined Medley with "To Where You Are", Brown Eyes, Lady You're My Rainbow, Music of the Night, plus features from his "I Love Hawaii. The Journey" Cd, those being, Hawaii My Paradise, Flying, From My Heart (Hoku winning song which was written by Danny at age 12) and The Hawaiian Wedding Song sung with Cathy Foy (renown performer, celebrity who was visiting). Also he featured songs from his newest release, "Danny Couch Sings The Great American Classics" with excerpts from "Mona Lisa", Quando Quando and ending the evening with "People" There's nothing better than listening to Danny sing Love Songs, except of course to see him sing them live! He did so this night to rave Hana Hous.
AND adding to the intrigue of a performance never to be forgotten, several of the highlights and standing ovations went out during his performances of his signatures songs I Love Hawaii, and THESE ISLANDS (of course). Tears flowed during this and many of Danny's songs kindling up memories of past attendances and fond times always cherished.
In addition the back up band was an added plus to Danny's vocals, getting to rub elbows with long time friend Bobby King (from the Ali'is) playing bass and adding vocals brought back fond memories and rousted the listeners with his expertise and those of the other members of the band.. Danny's Conga drum solo was a celebration of his percussion expertise. His drumming history has always been put to the background, in my opinion he needs to incorporate even more of this feature. It was dynamic! The dancers... wow dressed in exotic and sexy hula attire, these girls/women are the best! Their compliment to Danny's performances was exemplary, and extremely attractive. Every man in the audience went away smiling, for good reason. Their show alone was worth the ticket. Not only were they good dancers, they are award winning dancers and beautiful to boot!
Mr. Couch your show is truly a hit. You have invested your blood sweat and tears into a production that wows your audience. This will prove to be the best show in Waikiki, if not already so. I recommend to everyone I know who is headed to Waikiki to come see your show. I now know personally that it's the best recommendation I can possibly make.
Your performances still make me tremble with anticipation, You are the best performer not only in Hawaii but of all I have personally seen. The feeling you put into your performances are a work of art, your voice back stronger and more in-depth than ever... It only proves that your heart and soul (and voice) continues to get better! God Bless your Voice! ~ "The Voice of These Islands" and Everywhere.

Reknown Celebrity Cathy Foy Graces Danny's Stage Danny Couch and Cathy Foy Mahi Sang The "Hawaiian Wedding Song" Last Monday while I was attending Danny's show at the Princess Kaiulani. The two of them sang and complimented each other as if angels graced the stage together.
He welcomed two magnificent singers/hula dancers/well known entertainers onstage. Ms Cathy Foy Mahi and Ramona Harris joined Danny to share their talent in song and hula. Cathy's voice was magnificent and Ramona added a touch of elegance to her own birthday celebration being shared that evening!

Aloha Aloha, Mahalo for visiting Danny Couch Fanaddicts here on TRIBE.
Ours is his Original and Designated Fan Club Site est. 2000 for Danny Couch which was developed by a fan and a friend acknowledging an Exceptional Contemporary Performer, Hawaiian Singer and Musician. Which has been admired by his many fans worldwide for decades.

I consider myself fortunate, I have been touched by the sound of a voice. Not my own, of course, but that of a talented gentleman who has been blessed with a voice unlike any I have heard prior, or since. That of the handsome and very talented Mr. Danny Couch.

Singers have the ability to change everything with a simple turn of the phrase or note sung, my life had been turned, Hawaiian Music had been introduced to me. Music, and a voice had never moved me like that before, nor has it had the impact of this musical introduction. This singer opened a door to the secret Mecca of Hawaiian Music for me, and didn't even realize it. There upon adding to the mystique of this wonderful but almost (at least to us mainland-dwellers) unknown wealth of artists, hidden there in Paradise.

I felt it necessary, a calling of sorts, to develop a website for Danny's fans, those who have a common interest in an uncommon musical style. I'm very proud to have produced the first Fan Appreciation Web Site for Danny Couch and be it's owner. This was due to the fact of not being able to find ANY information about him at the time. A lot of endepth research goes into my site, (not to mention investment both in time and energy) If you are interested in hearing Danny's very first Recording... I have it. If you want to know more about his first Group... I have it. It's a fun hobby and to hear the words thank you is enough to spark me!

With permission the site was launched with my heart on my sleeve after one year of development prior to previewing it to Danny. My dedication has continued despite some adverse situations, my attraction to Danny's music continues to build to this day, and I will continue to try to bring you the best information available in order for you to know and love his music also. I hope you will join, participate, and continue to enjoy our endevor.
Why a Fan Club? Well to introduce Danny to more people, of course!
