<div>Well September is a long ways off, but I thought it might not hurt to plant the seed of an idea early so that people can keep this one in mind for later this year. <br/> <br/>The event/gathering is called Healing the Earth Healing Ourselves Mountain Herb Festival and this year they are hosting a firewalk. There was plenty of drumming and at least one fire spinner there last year, but there is plenty of room for more drummers, bellydancers, firespinners, artists, healers etc. Here is a link to the page: <br/> <br/>http://www.geocities.com/beyondyonderrd/festival.html <br/> <br/>I went to the one this past fall and it was awsome! The woman that hosts the event (Linda) owns some land and cabin way, way back in the hills a little bit south of the Red River Gorge area. It was an intimate gathering of probably not more than a couple of hundred people over the weekend, but the amazing thing was that some of the people there had come from as far as Australia and England to be there. There was drumming, some blue grass music, healers, teachers, candle lit labrynth, medicine wheel, large TeePee, sweat lodge, some fire spinning, good food. Anyway, they do a better job of describing it on the site. I had a blast there last year and it would be so much fun to see some of the new people that I am starting to meet in the drum and dance scene down there this year. <br/> <br/>Keep it in mind. <div>I'm new to the Tribal dance scene, but I went to the Wulf Hafla at the Cincinnati Yoga School last weekend and it was awsome!! I'm trying to meet new people and find more opportunities to play drums for dancers. I have been playing hand drums and other percussion instruments for 18 years. So, if you know of anything going on, even if its just a casual get together and you want some drums there, then please give me a yell.
