Dark Horizons is a community of individuals interested in eliminating poor/useless lighting and help encourage installation of good light to help reduce light pollution. Light Pollution is not only a Astronomer's dilemma, but also the general public. Light Pollution also affects our health and safety and the enviroment. More birds are killed each year due to poor lighting since navigatory birds use the stars as navigation and get confused at the lights below. Baby sea turtles follow the light of the condos on the beach instead of the light of the moon. Thieves can use glary lights as a way to get into your house! Help join the fight!
