Just off the top of my head, but almost every ones phone have a GPS or can get a Hand one. Wouldn't be great to find someone that could put all of Pennsic on a GPS map then we can find the parties/groups faster. Special classes would be no problems.
Better yet, so drunk can't find your way home, pull out the Gps...LOL
has anyone done or thought of this yet?

Re: GPS and map of Pennsic
Mon, June 15, 2009 - 10:11 AMOr more likely, wen someone finds you in a ditch they can look at your
GPS to know which direction to drag you.
Actually, I always put a GPS waypoint to mark where I've parked my car. -

Tue, July 21, 2009 - 7:30 AMLOL it's not the problem of where I am, it's IS where do I FIND THE PARTY. Want to come and show me around in the dark?

Re: GPS and map of Pennsic
Tue, July 21, 2009 - 9:22 AMSo, parties need to lis their GPS coordinates.
Of course, that's very un-period. -
-
Re: GPS and map of Pennsic
Wed, July 22, 2009 - 9:20 AMI can see using the GPS to find your car but Parties? Wandering around in the dark following the sound of the drums or getting directions from drunks leaving the party is all part of the experience. Still a fun way to use a GPS. -

Re: GPS and map of Pennsic
Sat, July 25, 2009 - 6:30 AMI agree with J-man, Following your GPS to find a party at burning man would be one think but at Pennsic it'd be lamer than the jonas brothers.

Tue, June 30, 2009 - 1:39 PMYou could do what one Tribe user did, and get a site-map tattoo. ;)

Re: GPS and map of Pennsic
Thu, August 13, 2009 - 2:48 PMI too prefer the more primitive, dare I say period, version of a paper map.
Now, to get the map and parties printed on parchment paper... that'd be cool. -

Re: GPS and map of Pennsic
Fri, August 14, 2009 - 6:31 AMOMG!!!! how lame can you get!! The best partys are the ones you find when not looking. just off for a walkabout.
I have bin to partys that state that if you pull out a cell phone or camra it will be thrown into the fire, and then you have the choice of getting thown out or into the fire after it.
GPS at Pennsic the toatal lame ass buzz kill. wow ..... GRRR.... this blows my mind.... -
-
Re: GPS and map of Pennsic
Fri, August 14, 2009 - 11:06 AMagreed. Cell Phones, GPS units, Computers, Blackberrys, or any other piece of technology more advanced than a flashlight has no place at a party. -
-
Re: GPS and map of Pennsic
Fri, August 14, 2009 - 11:42 AMi should probably not bring my antikythera device... -
