I'm trying to put together a really scary monster suit. Anything ya'll have done fashionwise that have turned out really creepy looking? I'm trying to think of good eye tricks, maybe something with stilts, definitely good claws. Suggestions? Past lessons of trial and error to share?

in my humble opinion...
Thu, April 20, 2006 - 12:22 PMmonsters aren't all that frightening. but precise, and detailed alterations of humans are. to make something look quite real, and mutilated is the best way to get across the "scary"...
but that could just be me.
what audience are you attempting to frighten? take that into consideration too, children fright for differnet reasons than adults etc... -

Re: in my humble opinion...
Thu, April 20, 2006 - 3:04 PMI absolutely agree, and it's these little shifts in expected human form and movement I'm most interested in creating. Not necessarily mutilated (though that could be incorporated) but mostly just off.
And I am definitely talking scary for grown ups. I plan to wear it at Burning Man among other events. I'd definitely like to get a good photo shoot out of it too. A friend of mine was talking about gator leather as an option. I have to say that interests me. But please, ideas, more food for this fiending brain, please :)
