Re: How was Mojitos?
Wed, February 20, 2008 - 3:50 PMOFF DA HOOKAH!
T'was a very special night of tuneful journeys, including being stopped mid-song by a flaming birthday cake with WAY too many candles. Of course Sr. Atlas managed to extinguish them all completely due to his super human lung capacity as he was serenaded by a rather large crowd of Bubs and friends all gathered for the special festivities.
Some true Atlasites including Derek Bodkin, Parisa and Sam Flot were spotted, all paying tribute to Di Capo di Basso. His parents flew up from SoCal and there were literally dozens of friends and fans!
You'll be able to audio-witness this all too real peak experience moment on archive.org soon! -

Re: How was Mojitos?
Wed, February 20, 2008 - 9:09 PMI've only seen DSB twice...the first time at Beckett's in Berkeley a few months back. While I liked the first show I saw, I think DSB has made huge strides in their musicianship and they've taken it to a whole new level. More than one person at Mojito's expressed their pleasant surprise at how good they sounded and I have to agree. I like their unique sound and their catchy tunes; and I also like the fact that they are willing to take musical risks and play "outside the box" so to speak. That says a lot about a band.
Looking forward to next time!
