Fri, May 6, 2005 - 4:29 PMI was at the game today (just got home in fact), and it was awful... absolutely awful. Every ball they hit off of Gasoline Hawkins was just crushed.
The line drive was the worst... JUST HOLD THE DAMN BALL!!!! We all screamed it from aisle 216... but to no avail. I can't fault guy for trying to make a play, but that one was not going to work, and the throw was simply shocking.
They are simply inventing new ways to lose games now.
What bothers me the most about Baker is his insistence on putting players in situation that they have continually proven that they do not belong in. Hawkins is a setup man. In the 8th, lights out. In the 9th, pure Gasoline. Everyone in the stadium knew it except the damn manager.
