Re: Gemini depression
Mon, October 1, 2007 - 6:19 AMI've been feeling a little down lately too; I figure it's just part of my gemini ebb and flow. Doing something creative or physical helps me to feel better; helps to release some of my nervous energy. I've been mountain biking lately and the smell of fall and the pretty colors help to lift my spirits. -

Re: Gemini depression
Mon, October 1, 2007 - 11:21 AMThere are a few comments I have on this subject...one I am quite familiar with myself.
I often go through quite severe mood swings...("No, I'm not bipolar, I'm a Gemini!") But then I am able to achieve what I term "contrast".
The way I see it, if everything is always happy-happy, joy-joy...we loose the true meaning and depth of our elation. By giving us a peek at the abyss, the mountaintops are experienced with much more intensity. See? Contrast...
I know how hard it can be during the "down" times to zoom out far enough to remove oneself from the circumstances swirling about us...but I try to keep this in perspective.
The other thing I repeat to myself - quite often - is that "...there is no doubt that the universe is unfolding EXACTLY as it should..."
It helps me to know that the trials and tribulations are an ingrained part of our time here...and often the times when we learn and grow the most.
Cliche'? Maybe. But true...to me at least.

Re: Gemini depression
Tue, October 2, 2007 - 3:51 PMTrue. I guess I am always used to being "up" that when "down" comes it's so hard to take. It's a great time to regroup and rethink and take things slowly (or as slow as a Gemini can get); it's just so hard to move through being sad with dignity and grace.

Re: Gemini depression
Tue, January 8, 2008 - 8:44 PMi think i've learned how to deal with these "swings" as well...i retreat and i give myself the break i need...i'm usually quieter at these times and more introspective...these times don't last very long but it really is a chance for active geminis to relax and rejuvenate... reading occupies my mind and distracts me from the feelings of "down" emotionally and converts it into "down time" which we need on a regular basis... during these times gems, nourish your body...take a nice bath infused with essential oils, savour a good glass of wine, read a book, pamper yourself...eat wholesome foods, drink herbal infusions, sleep and relax...sooner than later it will be over the light will shine brighter...
PS: i agree that if life were always up up up, how do we truly appreciate it unless we've experienced some downs.

Re: Gemini depression
Thu, January 10, 2008 - 3:29 PMI'm getting better at remembering that the blues will eventually pass. I can be with it and not freak out about the things I feel are going badly; I know it's just one of my down times,, and I don't buy into the negative thoughts as much. I've had a lot of chances to practice :-)
My down times usually don't last more than 2 days or so.
I hope you feel better! -

Re: Gemini depression
Tue, April 1, 2008 - 8:30 AMI used to also wonder why I could be extremely happy one moment and then depressed the next! After reading a bit more on Astrology, it certainly became clear to me that it was (as you all have so candidly replied!) the darker side of the Gemini personality!
It naturally is true that as the shadow cast by the sun envelops you, so will it eventually pass (as they say, "This too shall pass") beyond you and the sun will return triumphantly!
Gemini's are extremely sensitive to language, as I have learned, and one thing that has made the darker periods easier for me is positive music and peaceful and happy words of encouragement! Maybe some positive affirmations?
And it is very true what Sunkyst said. Without the bad times, good times could not exist because we could not reference the polarities of the emotions! When you are down, you will begin to realize that the wonderful/happy days will follow!
Hugs!

Re: Gemini depression
Wed, January 23, 2008 - 10:40 AMmood swings are especially tricky for Gems
because of our shifting perspectives....
after a lifetime of study I have recently found a book that is
so simple and effective at describing a spiritual process it
is meaningful even to beginners....
It is called AWARENESS by Anthony DeMello
read the reviews on amazon.... everybody loves this book...
and even though I was aware of most of the ideas about
perspective, it describes it so well that it is almost like a whole new tool.c
cheers

Re: Gemini depression
Wed, June 18, 2008 - 7:46 PMwe are moody....so depression is not a big deal..sometimes I'll go days without eating when I'm upset..just spent 3 this week, had some food today, but made it to work everyday and looked great...even thinner too :) Always a plus. If you feel really down though, you should go to your doctor.
