This is a FUSION-ONLY competition - That’s right... No traditional Middle Eastern categories. No traditional music. No ATS! This is about innovation and the future of the art.
Also a first: our panel of respected judges will be giving critique “American Idol” style... on stage, on mic, immediately after the performer finishes. No waiting to receive your score cards in the mail, no confusion in the audience about what the judges might be thinking.

Tue, January 6, 2009 - 9:14 AMThis was the best competition I have ever been to. I loved the live comentary and that the judges got to deliberate about the winner!!!! Just awesome Cera, way to go!!!!!
The showcase was fabulous.......DCDT blew me away with the mirmaid peice, just breath taking. I loved it! And Crystal and her troup kicked some major butt, great style and flavor =)
Can't wait for next years competition!!!!! -

Laleh took 2nd place solosit, rosanna mcguire took 3rd.
troupe joweh from sebastapol took 2nd place troupe.
i think there's a STRONG chance we'll do it again next year!

I've been on a high for the last couples of days..... but don't worry, the cosmos are keeping my ego in check by encouraging me to do idiotic things like drive over concrete islands and spill pizza all over the floor.
