Gongzilla presented a NAMM Jamm showcase concert on Fri. Jan 18 at the legendary Troubadour in W. Hollywood, CA.
Many great artists had been brought together for an evening of complete improvisation featuring special guests: Don Preston (Zappa) Jake Cinninger (Umphrey's McGee) Joel Cummins (Umphrey's McGee) Kris Myers (Umphrey's McGee) Jim Loughlin (moe.) Charlie Hitchcock (Banyan, Particle) Ben Combes (Emergency Broadcast, Particle) Heath Bennett (Delta Nove) Rob Covacevich (Delta Nove) Andre Cholmondeley (Project Object) Jonas Hellborg (John McLaughlin, Shawn Lane) Jen Zielenbach (Antigone Rising).
Delta Nove opened the show performing a rare, stand alone "Drumming Set" incorporating a variety of world instrumentation, blending of conventional, non-conventional as well as electronic sounds and touching on an array of musical styles including Brazilian, Afro-Beat, Reggae, Funk, Drum and Bass, and Hip Hop.
