what about black light batik? im not sure if there are uv reactive dyes,, but you could paint the stamps with glow in the dark paint..
glowing tie-dye... do the usual elastic band scrunching and then paint glowing or uv reactive paint on with a brush.
did you know flourite is uv reactive? (the semi precious gemstone) i am not sure if jewelry grade chunks of it would glow, but its worth a test

get tons of them - blow up some with helium and attach neon nylon rope to them as the cord , have other blown up with air and have them kicking around on the floor. i'd go for plain matte black balloons and some glow in the dark ones... another thing is.. if you happen to have a good friend who is in optometry, they have a type of eye drops that makes your eyes glow in uv light.
one thing i have always wanted to do is get a bubble machine and put a fog machine behind it (i dont know if it would work) .. i know there is glow in the dark bubble bath.. maybe you could use that in a bubble machine.. or have a fountain with that bubble bath in it

If you use white balloons, they would glow from the black light.
I've used the small glow sticks in balloons - just open the neck of the balloon and pop 'em in there, then blow them up. Very cool with helium. Use bigger glow sticks, and they act like ballast. The balloons will hover. So cool...

i wonder... if you put some very liquidy glue in the balloon and then some ofthose teeny glowsticks, and blow up the baloon, and keep it moving so they didnt all sit in one place.. would they stick to the sides? hmmm
i know that you can soak highlighter pens in water and the ink will seep into the water.. if you could use some fountains that would look cool.
of course, highlighter pens+ blacklights=fun anyways
probably not a good idea, but its too bad theres no blacklight reactive additive for drinks... i wonder if highlighters are bad to ingest? i doubt you could taste them with alchohol....
please dont feed people highlighters tho.

This is fun :D
So many possibilities!
Anything white will glow form the blacklight, so drinks with coconut milk or cream would look cool. You could have cumshots be the drink of the night - swirling glow. I suppose pina coladas would be good too.
I love to glow!

There is glow in the dark printer paper and any paper that comes in neon colors will most likely glow as well. Quartz crystals refract the light interestingly. White doctors gloves blown up just enough to be shaped like actual hands by the dozens with a paperclip or ornament hanger to one side of a net and hung overhead would look like a sea of hands (tip for this is to stick rounded cornered squares of cardboard in the palm of the glove to keep it from going round like a balloon) reaching down from the ceiling. Two plain white frizbees taped together with white tape with a glow stick inside and hung look like flying saucers if hug parallel to the floor, or like the moon if hung parallel to the wall. Underwater and space themes work well as with underwater you can use light colored yarns and stuff to make nets and sea plants or with space you can use all sorts of the glow in the dark stars that are pre-done. Make glow in the dark footprint paths to important locations in different glow colors and stick them to the floor, like pink to the ladie's room, blue to the men's room, green to the bar, white to the dance floor. A giant chalk board could be fun. With lots of colors of chalk. You can set up the mini fountains with glow sticks and dry ice in the bottom along with water, the water will be the color of the glowstick in the base of the fountain, the fog from the ice will be a mis of the color from the glow stick and the white that the black light will make it, and the water out of the top will reflect the black light only. Gizmodo makes glow in the dark bubble bath if you have a bubble machine. White plastic skulls glow nicely. Or go Alice in Wonderland and do the Cheshire Cat grinning all over the place. Brain tired, goodnight.

Actually, not everything white glows in a black light, in my experience most synthetic fabrics don't, so if you're planning on using white, test it under a black light to make sure it glows before you make a huge project out of it. Neon= glowy for the most part so that always good. I've done a lot of face painting at black light parties before, and discovered children's non-toxic glow in the dark craft paints. They're awesome, I've never seen anything that glows brighter, and you can but them in several different sizes. The best part is they come in many different colors, including blue, which can be hard to find in glow-stuff.
If anyone knows a good source on black light receptive purple paint or dye I would love to hear about it, since I haven't really found anything satisfactory yet.

I knew that some white fabrics did not glow, but I did not understand the correlation. However, I use 4-way stretch fabric (nylon & spandex blend, both synthetics), and it is some of the best glowing fabric I have come across. I wonder if certain synthetics use specific dyes that are not uv-reactive, hmmmmm.....
As for uv-reactive paint and dyes there are a few options. I use Kryolan's Aquacolors for face painting, and they have colors that are made specifically for uv purposes (they are labeled uv-dg). Here is a store that I will buy it from: www.sillyfarm.com A little goes a long way, and I would recommend buying the palette first and see how fast you go through it. I have had mine for over a year and still have plenty left with regular monthly/bi-monthly applications. They are water based so they come off easily with water or sweat. If this is not ideal then you would need to purchase a barrier/fixer spray to set the paint into place.
If you are looking for regular acrylic paint I would recommend Wildfire: www.wildfirefx.com/ Their paint is a bit more expensive than others, but it is rather thick and opaque so you do not use as much. I would not necessarily recommend using this for face painting, but it may be something to look into as I believe they are non-toxic. They also carry the uv Krylon makeup line, but it is cheaper elsewhere.
As for uv-reactive dyes, here are a few options I found off of www.flaggerboy.com (although I have yet to experiment with any of these):
Jaquard Acid Dyes ---> www.dharmatrading.com/
* Lilac - #612
* Hot Fuscia #620
* Brilliant Blue #623
* Brilliant Kelly Green #627
* Chartreuse #628
Sennelier Tinfix Design Dye
Canary Yellow #3 - Also an acid wash dye but comes in a very concentrated liquid, dilute with h20 or alcohol then apply. You will need a yellow!
These are just pointers. The above dyes actually have fluorescent properties under black light, but are not true fluorescent dyes.
True Fluorescent Dyes
Now for the intense dyes!!
Day-Glo Color Corporation 1-800-4-dayglo Ask for customer service
* D818 Roanoke Yellow
* D834 Grand Yellow
Pylam Products Company Inc. 1-800-645-6096
* Fluorescent Violet - LX11387
* Fluorescent Blue - LX11384
* Fluorescent Green
* Fluorescent Yellow
* Fluorescent Brightener #351 - For that extra boost
Organic Dyestuff Corporation 1-401-438-8136
* Rhodamine B 400%. -- This is a fluorescent acid wash dye that is my primary red, although I have to tone it down with yellow to make a true red. I have only found it at one place, and it was $100/ pound. You may have to beg someone to cut you a pound. They usually only sell in 55 pound drums. There are probably other suppliers of this dye who can provide smaller quantities.
* Rhodamine G -- Incredible Fluorescent Pink
Happy Glowing!

Ooohhh. thank you so much. I've done minimal work with uv reactive dyes and paints, but love batiking. I never really crossed the two for a lack of information on the best places to obtain good uv reactive dyes. This will be an amazing help!

you could have a station with a helium tank and white ballons with fat sharpie (or even cheaper) black markers... people could come by and decorate their own white balloon.

My friend once found some black light reactive bubbles at Spencer's. They were great because the liquid was clear, and you could paint it on your skin and not see it except under a blacklight. Really fun stuff. I could see painting designs on the wall with this stuff, too. Don't know if they still carry it or not, though.

These are the only uv reactive bubbles that I know of: www.teknobubbles.com/
One word of caution, whatever makes them glow will stick around for a little bit although in most cases it is not permanent. Of course, this really does not matter unless you bring a black-light back into the same environment since it is invisible in normal light. Definitely a lot of fun!
