Wed, September 16, 2009 - 1:19 PMGreat articles, as always.
If only the drug industry was not so powerful, things could change.

Re: critical-of-the-psychiatric-industry
Thu, October 15, 2009 - 12:06 PMThe drug industry is only concerned with making money, that's why there are always these new "drugs" with questionable safety due to their many side effects. I know, I have been the experimental rat - placed on 15 different drugs to treat depression during the course of my life. I am no longer on medications of any sort and my depression is worse than ever. However, it's better than taking drugs that only leave me with side effects that make life more difficult than it already is. Clonazepam was the last and that put me through the ringer. -

Re: critical-of-the-psychiatric-industry
Thu, October 15, 2009 - 1:32 PMYeah, makes a lot of sense: Your life is so hard to deal with that you fall into depression; so they give you medications that make your life even harder. The best medications I have become aware of in my studies for depression:
keep moving, especially enjoyable rhythmic moving -- meditative dance
find ideas/activities/people/places that make you come alive -

Re: critical-of-the-psychiatric-industry
Thu, October 15, 2009 - 5:38 PMMeditative dance, I have never heard of it but I will research it and use it especially because I love dancing anyway. I have always thought of dancing as a way to get out of oneself, focusing on the rythym of music and letting it tell my body how to move is a wonderful way to get out of my head and provide me with relief. Thanks for the info :-) -

It sounds like you have been tru the ringer with all those drugs. You must be a strong lady to have survived going on and off that much poison.
Have you seen all the articles here?
